I seen reports on social media that the LL run WOSL has got the backing of the clubs, but there’s still a lot to sort out. Do you have any information in regards to this?
If this is the case, the last real piece of the jigsaw is the Tayside Junior clubs. How is this likely going to be resolved?

There was an information meeting this evening about the LL WoSL, but the backing will only really come when they invite actual applications to join.

Kilwinning Rangers have posted something on FB, in regards to submitting their application to join the LL version of the WOSL. It appears they aren’t waiting for the WRJFA compromise version

This is the compromise version. There are no longer two alternative leagues. In due course all the West Junior clubs will apply to join the WoSL whilst retaining their SJFA membership.

See post 33 in this thread.

Someone on P&B has posted that 15 clubs made applications to join the Lowland League's West of Scotland League following the recent meeting between the Lowland League and interested clubs. Has anyone heard anything similar?

Their tweets suggest that, if accepted, the WoSFL team will be Drumchapel United (referred to as "the new first team") and that the current Drumchapel United PYM will continue in the Central Scottish Amateurs.

4 other clubs have publicly declared that they have made applications, they are:
Kilwinning Rangers
Rutherglen Glencairn
Clydebank
Bellshill Athletic

Drumchapel announcing their application is precisely what this does not need. Plays into the hands of those who say that the "Seniors" is full of glorified Boys Clubs. You can just imagine some of the Junior dinosaurs rubbing their hands at this news.

Might that just ensure that only the realistically ambitious clubs go for the WoSFL (LL version) and the rest stay in the Juniors? Although given that they want to form the WoSFL and have said they are willing to accept new clubs it might be counter productive either way.

I'm not sure that Drumchapel PYM would be viewed as realistically ambitious in a semi-pro set up. They play on a caged astro at a sports centre with zero spectator facilities. They wouldn't be able to host some of the teams currently in the West Junior Super League.

Pyramid Working Group statement re West Of Scotland League:

24/03/2020 By Media Team
The scheduled meeting last night with Lowland, East of Scotland, South of Scotland and West Region Juniors took place via video conferencing due to current travel and person-to-person restrictions in place.
A great deal of common ground was established. The outline of what was agreed is as follows:
  • In order to ensure there is a firm record of registration and a database of information for the West of Scotland Football League, the West Junior FA are in agreement that the Lowland League application form should be completed and sent to George Fraser @[email protected]
  • To give Clubs more time to make these applications under current circumstances, the deadline has been extended to Tuesday 7 April. That will be the last date applications will be accepted.
  • Clubs currently members of the Scottish Junior FA are fully entitled to retain membership and, if so, will be eligible to continue to play in The Scottish Junior Cup. The Competition Rules of that Cup will be altered to reflect the need to ensure League Fixtures have priority.
  • There is no limit to the number of teams that will be accepted; With regards to compliance of ground criteria guidelines, the Leagues will work with Clubs with the expectation that necessary steps will be made over time.
  • The new league will be organised on a Conference basis, with final set up dependant on numbers. The Conferences will be for one season only.
There remains much to do to get the West of Scotland Football League up and running. All parties at the meeting last night are committed to continue to work together, to support the creation of the final piece of the Pyramid feeding into the Lowland League.
George Fraser [ Lowland League] John Greenhorn [East of Scotland League] Colin Holden [ South of Scotland League] Gordon Ronney [ West Juniors]

On P&B it says that these ten clubs have gone public about having applied or decided to apply to join the new West of Scotland League:

Bellshill Athletic, Blantyre Victoria, Clydebank, Drumchapel Utd PYM, Kello Rovers, Kilwinning Rangers, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Maryhill, Neilston Juniors and Rutherglen Glencairn.

Again from P&B, there's a post which says that the West Region Junior Association has emailed all of its' clubs with the criteria and application form for the new West of Scotland League!

Irvine Meadow have put the matter to a vote, with 3 options: two of them are to join the WoSL with and without SJFA membership (and therefore the Junior Cup entry), and the third option is not to join the WoSL noting that a new league would need to be formed.
