Already mentioned elsewhere in this thread is the M27 closure at the start of February but thought it might be an idea to have one thread for all weekend road closures which will affect getting to matches, major A roads as well as motorways, starting with this weekend.

The M4 will be closed all weekend (8pm Friday 17th to 6am Monday 20th January) between Junction 6 (Slough) and 8/9 (Maidenhead) due to the demolition of Huntercombe Spur Bridge, which I believe is the road connecting Junction 7 westbound with the A4 at Burnham. Official diversions is via the A308(M), A308, A332 and A335 around Windsor but expect the A322 through Bracknell also to be extra busy.

This thread could also be used to inform hoppers if any major route to your match is blocked by an accident on a Saturday morning.

The M27 will be closed All Weekend from 9pm tonight until 6am Monday morning between J9 (Locks Heath) and J11 (Fareham) as a new footbridge is being built over the motorway between Junctions 10 and 11.

Also two stretches of the M4 are closed all weekend. The short 3 mile stretch between J5 (Langley) and J4a (M25) is closed eastbound (westbound the following weekend) and the long stretch between J13 (Newbury) and J14 (Hungerford) is closed westbound all weekend.

This is a good thread and it would be useful if people added to it every weekend. Probably too many closures in midweek at night to keep it updated for midweek fixtures though

M4 is a route to avoid again today. Closed all weekend westbound between J4a (M25) and J5 (Langley) and all weekend eastbound between J15 (Swindon) and J14 (Hungerford).

The relevant Highway's Agency twitter feeds normally have all the overnight closures on them, relevant as in area.

It's not usually so bad for roadworks midweek as the overnighters are later at night and the diversions are reasonably (usually) clear.

It's not always as obvious Which is the Highway's region for some areas. The M4 near Reading is East.

The A27 north of Portsmouth is closed eastbound all weekend between the end of the M27 (J12) and the A3(M) from 9pm Friday 18th to 6am Monday 21st September.

None in particular
Although not a motorway, the A13 is a major road from East London to Southend. If anyone is thinking of using it this weekend be aware there is a diversion through between Orsett and Stanford-le-Hope (Both ways) which could add a fair bit to your journey.

That could mean extra traffic to contend with on the A12 as I strive to reach Great Bentley by 1245 since the A13/A130 route to Chelmsford from the south won't be an option. Been stuck on that bypass before.

This weekend it is the turn of the Westbound side of the same stretch of the A27 to be closed all weekend from 9pm tonight until 6am Monday.

If anyone is heading to Barnton on Sunday, assuming their FA Vase tie vs Swallownest is still on despite some visiting players showing covid symptons and awaiting test results while other matches are being called off left, right and centre due to covid, please be aware that the A533 bridge at Winnington heading over to Barnton is closed this weekend, please allow additional time ahead of Sunday's 2pm kick off, says the club's Twitter.

M4 is closed all this weekend between J10 (Bracknell/Wokingham) and J12 (Theale).

Next weekend it will be closed in the more usual place between J5 and J6 around Slough.

The A31 is closed between Bere Regis and Sturminster Marshall (A350) due to fallen power lines following last night's storms. Any Falmouth fans heading to Christchurch should divert via A35 towards Poole then follow signs to Ringwood and Ferndown via A3049, A348, A341 through Kinson and A347 to Parley Cross before turning right towards Bournemouth Airport where you will be back on track.

Still no sign of an end to the M4 weekend closures around Slough. Closed all this weekend and next weekend between Junction 6 (Slough) and Junction 8/9 (Maidenhead) from 8pm Friday to 6am Monday.

M4 is closed again this weekend (11-14 June) between Junction 4B (M25 interchange) and Junction 5 (Langley).

The following two weekends (18-21 June and 25-28 June) the M4 is closed between J5 (Langley) and J6 (Slough).

These closures may have an impact on those heading to Thames Valley Premier or East Berks League games. Each of the closures last from 8pm Friday to 6am Monday.
