Be even sadder to see a non league club go out of business without attempting to raise funds to survive

One for the 'Shameless plugs' section?

Good to see a variation on the usual misspelling of Prescot. That extra T is determined to stick around one way or another. :giggle:

Ashford Town (Middlesex), Prescot Cables
As a volunteer at Prescot Cables, I've made a small contribution and everyone at the club appreciates that times are hard for everyone, which is one of the reasons that if the crowdfunder raises more than the target amount, a percentage will be shared with other local community groups.

The ground is in a residential area and with the clubhouse being integrated into the Main Stand, it is not viable to operate the bar on non-matchdays except for private functions, which have obviously been cancelled since mid-March and for the foreseeable future. If non-league football doesn't resume until September then the club will have gone six months without the opportunity to trade; a significant disadvantage compared to clubs who can open up their social clubs from this weekend. In the meantime, the rent and other bills need to be paid, hence the crowdfunder appeal.

The club is legally constituted as a Community Interest Company and anyone can become a member/shareholder for an annual payment of £5.00. In recent seasons, Cables has established a thriving Junior Section and was preparing to launch a Wildcats centre aimed at encouraging young girls to play when the lockdown hit.

If you read this thread and decide to donate, then thank you from everyone at the club. If you're not in a position to donate, that's completely understandable, but maybe you could pay us a visit for a match when life gets back to something like normal. For those who haven't been, we can promise a cracking stand, excellent, locally brewed real ales (which you can sup at pitchside, should you wish) and top quality pies.
