The ground was, and still is, home to Newbridge Town FC in the Leinster Senior League.

You probably knew that, but I thought it worth pointing it out in case some people weren't aware.
No, I don't think I knew that. I don't recall seeing any 'Newbridge Town' signage at the ground and would have assumed that the town could only support one club. I've never watched any football in Eire below the top two divisions, although that could change if football there restarts with spectators before it does in the rest of the British Isles. Anyone know if this is likely?

Correct assumption, as there's only one club left.

I went to what turned out to be Kildare's final match. It was only afterwards that I found out that it nearly didn't get played, as the players hadn't been payed and had to be persuaded to complete the fixture.

There's more on Kildare County here.

Europa League 1st Qualifying Round 1st Leg
@ Victoria Stadium K.O. 19:30

Flight over from Gatwick sat next to a cagefighter from Dartford who insisted on buying me bottles of prosecco. He was on his way to work as security at a big fashion event in Gibraltar and the group who met him were 'interesting'. With hotels on the Rock being on the expensive side I stayed at the Marriott in La Linea, an easy walk from the airport.

The next morning I crossed the border again and purchased a match ticket which were being sold at a dry cleaning shop.

After a day taking in the sights, I went up to the ground which is very close to the airport. Unsurprisingly, the match was rather one-sided - Slovan scored after 5 mins and were 5 up by half time. The second half was pretty much a non-event, the final goal coming with the last kick

Back in 2015 there was talk of a new stadium being built at Europa Point as Victoria Stadium was not up to standard for competitive internationals, the national side having to play 'home' matches in Portugal. That all fell through and the existing ground was improved instead.

Hopefully, come the first Thursday in July next year, I will be able to visit another small country for a Europa League tie.

Small Countries will not be in the Europa League next year.
All the little ones will play in the new Europa Conference

Europa League 1st Qualifying round 1st leg @ Upton Park :
West Ham United 3 FC Lusitanos 0.
Entry £12 (10+2) Att 34,966

My final visit to the Boleyn Ground, I had hoped for a few more Thursday night European trips but just about the only thing West Ham got right about this campaign was the pricing.

After overcoming these Andorran minnows, the Irons scraped through, on penalties, against one of the big boys of Malta before being dumped out by little known Romanian opposition.

Still like all pretenders the Europa League is beneath our clubs who all want a bit of the Champions League pie......5 years on and Europa League qualification is just a pipe dream for the likes of West Ham who approached it with such disdain.

Played on the 3G cage at MOD Lyneham, next to the grass pitch. Bit of a faff getting in (pre-book, ID and escorted round base) but it was an unusual tick to get. A good game too with the Army lads playing very well but the Wiltshire League side had too much for them in the end. Nice to see Tim also there from these parts

My 1st of 2 visits to Recreation Ground (aka Treflan)

This was billed as the Clash of the Champions, being Wales v Northern Ireland champions. I had seen the ground on Sgorio over the years but had never been. So when I arrived, I had only enough money to get in, and I think there were no cashpoints in the village then (or I hadn't been able to find one anyway), so I couldn't afford a programme. When I got home I realised it was also available to download and printout for free on their Web site. This was the first time I had realised that online programmes were a thing, and I printed out out on glossy paper. Not ideal but a good alternative to none. Years later I spotted an actual paper programme from the day on Ebay so swapped it out. The ground seemed quite smart and there was a fair amount of fans there. The goal was scored in the second half I think but didn't keep a record so am not sure, though I do have a picture of it as the ball hit the top corner, but the timestamp on it is corrupted so not sure when it was scored (and can't find anything online).

'A 76th-minute strike from substitute Stephen Parkhouse, following a slip by defender Steve Evans, secured the spoils for the Irish visitors much to the delight of their vociferous band of 200 supporters'
