Spain deaths yesterday 2
UK deaths yesterday 324

All Spanish schools opening in September.

Guess that's the last time we will be seeing professor Van Tam in a daily press briefing.

Are we still winning the Eurovision Death Contest...

You seem to be happy about that.

Truth is, without wholesale testing of those that have died and without any evidence for or against , the doctors can write 'suspected' Covid 19 on the death certificate. ....It's obviously in their interest to do so.

As for Van Tam, he simply stated the obvious and made no comment on whether Cummings had broken the rules.
You simply read in to his statement anything that suits your prejudice.

There are the facts....
Then there are socialist 'facts'..ie most of what is on the rolling commentary tv shows.

Why would it be in their interest to do so?

Ah, the beauty of politically neutral statements - something in them for everyone, even the most prejudiced, but no political capital to be made out of them, despite the efforts of the prejudiced.

Doctors love a crisis.
They have tried to pretend there's one every winter for the past 20yrs or so.
Then they use it as the basis to get even more cash out of the tax payer.
Nothing political.....just greed!

That comes as news to my sister and her husband who are both doctors 🤔

Going back to Dominic Cummings. I notice that there was a cardboard cut out of him amongst others on the seats in the Stadium in Sydney where the Sydney Roosters v South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL match was played last Friday..

If people are saying Cumming's actions will lead to them breaking lockdown rules then I can only suggest that they were looking for an excuse......

Any adult in the room wouldn't be using the 'Cummings did it so I can do it' excuse but we know how puerile the opposition are.

This is all political and zilch to do with any honest sense of peeved ness.
Exactly........ could just as easily say Stephen Kinnock and Tahir Ali actions did it.

.
I think all Van Tam said was that the rules apply to everyone? It's hilarious some people see that as somehow being a dig at Dominic Cummings.......... medical experts really are above political point scoring.

Did you conveniently forget Jenrick & Farage too or did your prejudices not want to mention them.

All MPs broke the rules except Cummings made them for us to comply with.

Nigel Farage didn't break any rules but clearly you are obsessed about him........ are you just upset that he was highlighting people trafficking?

The problem for Johnson is that among the most infuriated by Cummings' rule breaking were huge swathes of Conservative voters who have been making it very clear to their Tory MPs that they think they're being treated as mugs for sticking to the rules.

If it was just the opposition that were kicking up a fuss Boris wouldn't care.

The people who really hate Cummings are to be found in the Conservative party. He has made clear his contempt for politicians including the current cabinet. In return they loathe and fear him.

Cummings isn't everybody's cup of tea but that is irrelevant to whether he broke lockdown rules.

Conservative voters generally don't give a monkeys one way or the other about Cummings or any other SPAD.

But they care a great deal about what they consider rule breaking when they've made all sorts of sacrifices in adhering to the rules. They stayed at home as instructed when Cummings didn't. And they're not so daft as to fall for the eye test car drive defence.

And they've made those feelings very clear to Tory MPs.
