Never thought I'd ever start a thread in this section of the forum! The article only caught my eye because of the venue but it probably makes sense to post it here as I noticed a similar thread for last season. Anyhoo... Everton's women's team have announced they'll be moving to the Liverpool County FA ground in Walton Hall Avenue around mid-October. The move will involve a significant upgrade of facilities with a 500 seater stand being built and improved spectator access around all four sides of the ground (it already has lights and a decent covered terrace). Details here: http://www.evertonfc.com/.../06/21/ladies-ground

Less interesting for hoppers, Cambridge City have announced their women's team will be playing league fixtures at Ely City this season. Their home ground of Trinity sports field doesn't have the grading. It doesn't really have anything, to be fair. The announcement only mentioned league games, so anyone particularly keen to kick this particular field may want to keep their eyes open for PSFs or county cup games. Otherwise it looks like it will be just the development team and student teams, until City move to Sawston when the plan is for the women's teams to move there.

On the subject of Tottenham, their regular ground for the season will be a new ground-share, at Barnet. League fixtures have been worked out to avoid clashes, but I'm not clear what happens if both Spurs and London Bees get drawn at home in the cup. In the Championship, Sheffield United are at Sheffield Eagles RLFC, where they moved part way through last season, and new clubs Blackburn and Coventry United are at their existing venues, Bamber Bridge and Coventry RFC respectively. Most Championship clubs that don't play at their parent club's ground will probably play there once during the season, as this has become increasingly common and very popular. The only game I've seen confirmed so far is Aston Villa at Villa Park, 12 noon on 8 Sept.

>> and new clubs Blackburn and Coventry United are at their existing venues, Bamber Bridge and Coventry RFC respectively. << Blackburn Rovers Ladies at Bamber Bridge seems an odd choice of venue. Can't see much local support based there? The ground is fine, but clearly inside the Preston catchment area. Are PNE Ladies still going? They used to play at UCLAN Arena and their web site and twitter hasn't been updated for a while? Looking at FA FT NWWRL tables, they didn't play their last 3 games, and didn't fulfil 6 in total, finishing bottom of the Div 1, and looks like they were playing all their home games in the 2nd half of the season at the away venue?

There has been some doubt about the date of the first Everton game at the new ground. The fixture list announcement is out of date now, and the club's fixture list (go to the main website, select fixtures then pick the relevant team from the drop-down) is saying they're still at Southport for the Brighton game. One thing to watch, for anyone particularly keen to go to the first game, is that there's a round of Continental Cup games on 3 November and fixtures haven't been arranged yet. It's possible that could become the first game, if the ground's ready in time and Everton fancy a low-profile game as the first one. I suspect they may negotiate for an away game that date, but worth keeping an eye on for those interested.
