Germany weekend 15-17 November 2019 Can't Post or Reply Privately

Just had a weekend break of 4 games in 3 days in Germany.

Friday 15/11/19
Oberliga Mittelrhein
FC Hurth 1 Fortuna Koln II 1
Admission 7 euros
Free Teamsheet
Just the one stand played on a 3g pitch. Game fairly even but took a late koln goal to ensure the draw.
Much happiness when the Gluhwein arrived just at halftime much needed on a cold night.
Just over 20 mins walk from Tram 18 station.

Saturday 16 Nov 2019
Reginalliga west
Rot Weiss Essen 3 Alemania Aachen 0
Admission 11 euros
Badge 3.95 euros.
Free newspaper programme

Visited by many on Saturday modern ground impressed by the historical displays on the walk way to the ground.
Surprised by how poor the visitors were

Then on to SPVG Schonnebeck should have been a quick 30 mins journey by bus from RWE but due to traffic took almost 90 mins.

SPVG Schonnebeck 0 SV Straelen 1
Oberliga Niederrhein
Admission 8 euros
Free programme covered two matches .
Again it was getting very chilly a beer was sought in the warm clubhouse and then a gluhwein in another building followed by a bratwurst at the outside stand.

A large main stand which was quite full as crowd was about 300 for the visit of the league leaders.
A surprise was SV Straelen manager was a woman can't say have seen that before also the amount of Japanese players in the visitors side. .
The winner coming in the last minute after the home keeper took down the attacker.

Should have been a fairly easy bus journey back to Essen Hbf apart from the bus didn't turn up and had to wait 40 mins for one many at the bus stop were angry including an old man who kept hitting the bus shelter with his stick.

Sunday 17 Nov 2019
Reginalliga West 1
Fortuna Koln 0 Borussia Dortmund Under 23s.2
Admission 10 euros online think 11 on the day.
Beer 4 euros
Frikadelle 3 euros
Gluhwein 3 euros ( wish I hadn't bothered tepid gluhwein not my drink)
Free programme

Journey not as easy as should be as tram line next to ground shut so took line 18 to nearby stop for an easy 15 mins walk to the ground.

A largish ground large seated stand along one touchline and terracing around the ground behind one goal not in use
Behind the other goal was a large group of about 300 Dortmund fans who sang throughout the game. That's dedication.
No cover apart from the seated stand glad it was a fine day.

A game that marched the Gluhwein pretty tepid lots of passing but not too much end product . The visitors took the points with two well worked goals during the second half.

A nice touch at the end was the club handing out 2020 calendars free can't see many UK clubs doing that.

Walked back to Koln Sud railway station about a 20 mins walk and was soon back in the main Hauphtbahnhof

A pleasant trip hardly a goal fest and the best game and ground by a long way was Rot Weiss Essen but all grounds had a good atmosphere and reasonably priced refreshments and free programmes.
