U's were impressive first half but the visitors were gifted a goal just before the break to get them back in the game, The second half was much closer and the O's must have rued their slow start. The hosts took the lead in the third minute when a Theo Robinson pass from the right found Kwame Poku in acres of space in the box and the youngster fired in for his first league goal. in the 28th minute Ryan Jackson turned a defender on the edge of the box before shooting high into the top corner to double the U's lead. Two minutes before the break a mixup between Tom Eastman and keeper Dean Gerken lead to Conor Wilkinson scoring from a couple of feet out.

Some good forward planning i thought having a holiday finish on a Friday, however the scoreline reflects how poor the game was and as a result my run of games without a 0-0 finished at 112, game 113 being unlucky. Stoke were really poor, Brentford tried but could not breakdown their defence and created few real goalscoring chances, though the Bees defence did create a great chance for Stoke near the end, fortunately the Bees keeper was on hand to keep it goalless. The final whistle as a blessing for all.

Very impressed with the improvements made since my last visit. The ales served in the clubhouse or 2 Brews Cafe Bar as it is known, were of excellent quality. Herts v Kent, therefore they selected Tring and Shepherd Neame breweries. Could have been a bit more inventive for Kent but it was cask, and the fact they were on was well publicised online, so full marks.

Least said about the football the better Frown
