Below the Football League - I'm not sure if this applies to National League or not - players can play for as many clubs as they want in Steps 3, 4, 5 and below. What they can't do is sign for more than one club in Step 4 or above in a fourteen day period. In Sam Bantick's case, he could sign for anyone after leaving Romford, but only after a fortnight's grace.

I think the Conference - and it'll always be the Conference - is now classed the same at the rest of non-league football. It's no longer classified as a pro league by FIFA, hence no transfer window.

Sam has signed for Walthamstow FC and should be in the squad for Saturday against Southend Manor.

Worth coming along o watch. Large car Park and bar. Junior games going on using the outside pitches. And we issue proper programmes.

Off on a slight tangent
No-one has mentioned Collier Row (and I was far from a fan of that club, very nasty set of people in my experience)
Romford merged with them and within a year had annexed the committee of the joined club and shortly after, the name of Collier Row disappeared, wiped out by Romford.
So perhaps they are a good fit the club and Mr Tamplin - not too worried about casualties, like Paul martin and others, as long as they get what they want.

A few days in and already he has bombed one of his new signings.

It looks as if it's (at least) two who have been allowed to go after just one game. Paul Hayes (ex Scunthorpe United among many others) was reported to have retired in the summer after a season at AFC Sudbury, but came out of retirement to play one game for Romford.

He will not be making a second appearance for Romford, and has now signed for Meridian VP (Step 6, SCEFL Division One). Meridian VP are not normally a noisy club, but they've been sure to tell everyone about this signing!

If you had come along to Wadham Lodge today you would not have seen Sam Bantick - released before kicking a ball - told his attitude was not right.
What you would have seen was a wonderful 7-0 thrashing of Southend Manor - 5-0 up at half time - out 3rd 7 goal tally in the League this season

There was an interview with Tamplin in the Evening Standard a couple of days ago and interestingly, it was heavily focused on his claims that he had "found God" as his motive for helping football clubs. A curious thing to say, particularly as wealthy people who claim to have found God tend to give their money to a church or charity rather than spend it on a popular sport.

I have never met the guy. However I know others, unconnected to each other who have, all of whom say the same. Tamplin is only interested in helping massage his own ego. He can’t do anything without it being plastered across some form of media. Everything he does, according to my (Very reliable) sources has an underlying factor of being about him.

Apparently Tamplin senior cleared off with 15 minutes left and took Archie with him. Archie however was the third sub (They only named 3).
Weather TimmyTabby who was there can shed any light or not, I don’t know.

Maybe he could put the Galacticos on hold and work with Brentwood to invest in their nightmare pitch. Another game called off late on it yesterday, having not had an inspection arranged. That pitch was bad enough with one team on it, and now Romford use it too it's soon going to become a major issue for the Isthmian League. Brentwood and Romford have already had reverse league cup fixtures. Seems when GT's first game in charge took place, they played on it when they shouldn't have, with the Sky and media bubble proving too much to resist for anyone. End result was a totally wrecked pitch that will cause problems for months.

Billericay Town FC Club Statement – 4th December 2019

Earlier today, we were contacted by a couple of media sources for comment as the club appeared on the ‘Companies Court winding up list’. On investigation, this was an ‘unadvertised’ procedure relating to a debt from before the current consortium took control.
The club are in the process of dealing with all the creditors from that period and are comfortable that everything necessary is being done to resolve these past issues.
Billericay Town FC is stable and moving forward in the right direction both on and off the field,
Thank you for your continued support.

It being the Velocity Trophy, Romford's new squad included a number of players who were cup-tied, hence the limited number on the bench. Glenn Tamplin has tweeted that this Saturday, when Romford play at Felixstowe, he will only be there for the first half as he has an 8pm flight to go on a family holiday.

I've heard you can't be cup tied for the velocity trophy. A rule change for this season.
