Can a reserve side play higher than Step 7 ?? if they won their Step 7 league.
We have 2 in the central Midlands League who look far far better than the other teams

I believe Reserve sides can play as high as Step 5, with the proviso that they are at least two levels below their first team.

2019/20 stats (including Pre-Season):

New Grounds: 11 (Most Recent: Carshalton Athletic)
Games: 21
Goals: 68
Goals Per Game (to 2 dp): 3.24
0-0s: 1

No, it’s now step 6 maximum. Reserve teams at step 5 were allowed to keep their status until they were relegated but I think they’ve all gone now. (Allegedly!)

Surely you just have to call yourself "<first team> Saints" and you can play as high as you like?

Far more pertinent would be to follow the Fort William model. Apart from the results!

I think I've got this right... with the Highland League losing promoted Cove Rangers with no team coming down in return, Inverness Caledonian Thistle enquired about entering a development team in the Highland League this season but were rebuffed, whereupon an idea was hatched where nine of their development players were loaned to perennial wooden spoonists Fort William sixty-odd miles away, which would give the young lads good grounding and maybe help the side from underneath Ben Nevis out results-wise.

Yes i do not really understand why they keep that in the rules as they are all gone now. At least according to the FA they have.

Hence the ‘allegedly’ of course.
