Gordon Greig (Huntly, Turriff United, Central Grampian Boys League) Can't Post or Reply Privately

Turriff United are mourning Gordon Greig, a former committee member, who joined the club after performing a similar role at Huntly. He had been unwell for a number of months. Youth development was Gordonís passion. He had a long involvement with the Aberdeen & District Juvenile FA and the Central Grampian Boys League. The Aberdeenshire FA planned, at a Turriff home game later this season, to make a presentation to Gordon to mark his contribution to football in the county.

In his programme notes for the 11/9 visit to The Haughs of Formartine United, Turriff chairman George Manson wrote: Football took second place this week as our club learned of the untimely passing of Gordon Greig. Gordon was a well known figure not only in footballing circles in Turriff but across the Highland League particularly with youth development. He served on our committee for a number of years and although he stood down a year or so back he still took an interest in our U17 development team. Even as recently as last Monday night he was in attendance at their game against Keith showing his determination in helping the youngsters progress. That determination spanned several decades and heíll no doubt be sorely missed by us all. Our thoughts at this difficult time are with Kathleen and his family, and we will tonight hold a minuteís silence to mark his passing. On such a poignant night I think itís only right I comment on Gordon and leave the football to one side. RIP Gordon Greig.
