Blackburn Rovers 3-2 Oldham Athletic
EFL Cup 1st round
Ewood Park
Attendance - 5215 (686 away)
Admission - £10
Programme - £2

Despite living relatively close, I have never been to Ewood Park. A cheap ticket for the Mickey Mouse cup allowed me to tick off the ground. Large stadium with decent facilities. Kind of a throwback to the 90ís, not only the ground but the locals too.
The game was very entertaining. 2-1 to Oldham then Blackburn equalised in the 92nd minute. With the tie about to go to penalties, Blackburn scores in the 95th minute to progress to the 2nd round.

Also here though only paid £5 to stand on the terrace. 4 players made their debut for Brentford and with other changes, the team looked disjointed at times and went behind early on when they gave the ball away around their own penalty area. Second half changes saw Brentford look more balanced and as a result equalised, but were unable to force a winner. Both sides missed a penalty from their first five before Racic tamely chipped Brentford's sixth penalty into the keepers hands. Cambridge duly scored their next penalty and that was the last league cup tie played at Griffin Park, it just remains to be seen if it is the last ever cup tie played at Griffin Park.

Made the relatively short journey down the M4 for:
Hartley Wintney 1-2 Supermarine

HW as ever, superb hosts. If you haven't been and are on the committee or a Director of a club, then you really need to go and try their Hartley Pie in the boardroom. It's delicious.

HW have upgraded the ground a little with an additional small stand with seats on the far side of the ground and at the bottom end, you can now walk all the way around the pitch with hardstanding down behind the goal and a fence now in place. the large nets have been moved back a little to protect the houses behind that goal.

the game as a whole should have probably been a draw, but we stole a late winner to go home with the three points as is becoming a feature of our season so far. Lots of points earned in 90+

West Lancs Division 2. KO 18:45. (F&N). Crowd 34.

Storeys of Lancaster 4 v 1 Garstang Reserves

Storeys play at Wellington Road LA1 4DN, in the Bowerham area of Lancaster. The ground is behind some garages and has a changing room block with a tea bar and toilets. The pitch is roped off on the nearside and the rest of the pitch is surrounded with wooden posts and a wire mesh fence. The only phone number on the league website was an invalid number when I rang it and from my enquiries at the ground the final digit should be a 9 not a 7. Although there is no name listed for this number it is the secretary and the full number is 07719 471239. Parking is not usually allowed inside the ground but is plentiful in the side streets.

This was something of a shock result. Garstang had won their opening two games scoring 10 goals, whereas Storeys had hit rock bottom, failing to score and conceding 11. The first twenty minutes saw Garstang miss five or six clear cut chances and the home side had a couple of decent efforts as well but it ended 0-0 at half time.

Storeys no.9 B.Rothery scored three minutes into the second period and added to his tally steadily throughout the half, scoring all four goals. The visitors managed just a stoppage time consolation from a free kick.

Seems there may have been a prog available at this and other Storeys home games judging by their facebook page

I've mailed the social media bod to see what the crack is.

They do have enamel badges available now, of that I do know.
