We'll be, as we are, when all the fools who doubt us fade away.

If all goes according to plan...

Tuesday 9th: Pre season friendly : FC Unsworth v Bolton Nomads KO 6.45 (but been told it may be around 6.30)

This will be FC Unsworth's first (open age) game and the first game played at "The Den" which is a new football pitch within the grounds of Unsworth Cricket Club (in the southern part of the borough of Bury). Hopefully that means that refreshments will be available. This has become my closest open age football club as I live less than 1 mile away :)

FC Unsworth have joined Div 2 of the Manchester League, while Bolton Nomads were last season in Div 2 of the Lancashire Amateur League but finished bottom (having not played after 5 Jan according to FT so presumably withdrew) so may well be in Div 3 next season as they do seem to be back, which would put them 4 levels below FC Unsworth so will be interesting to see how this game pans out.

EDIT - Game has been cancelled due to Bolton Nomads not being able to field a side - wonder if they'll change their mind now about the season? So now I don't know where to go, and I'll have to think about it after the weekend.

Game is back on as Chadderton Reserves are now the opposition...

So to confirm:

Tuesday 9 July
> Pre-season Friendly
> FC Unsworth v Chadderton Reserves
> at Unsworth Cricket Club AKA The Den
> KO expected between 6.30 and 6.45 depending on traffic
> Home debut open age game for FC Unsworth - They played on Sat away at Bolton United and lost 3-2
> Will be a tough test as Chadderton's Manchester League side are in the Step 7 Premier Division and Unsworth are making their OA debut into Div 2

Tuesday 9th July:
Yeovil Town U18 v Wincanton Town 1st team - PSF
1930 @ Alvington Training Centre, presumably the pitch they kicked Westland Sports off in front of the main building though Yeovil website lists Huish Park top pitch as venue but this was posted on 6th June and could have changed since then.

Yeovil have tweeted this morning that this game is being played on the Top Pitch at Huish Park with Free Entry. Either way it will be a new tick for meWink.

...providing no domestic entanglements ... and avoiding PSFs at odd venues/practice pitches - where declared in advance ...

Tue :

either
Alton v Alresford or
Sluff v 'Spitfires'

...quite liked the look of Eversley & C. v Wok & Emm - much more local and a nice 19:00 KO but I'm also 'hedging' this - as they often use outside practice areas for their early PSFs

Wed : very probably on 'taxi duties' but would at least still have a Scours 'soupcon' available across town at 19:30 :

RG City v The Sh!ts U21s Angelic - reportedly 6 to get in though? Crazy

...if I can avoid ferrying youngest to/from throwing himself into the Thames Shocked then I might think about nipping down to

Whitchurch v Winch Castle though that is a 19:00 start and M4 jn13 is probably still &^%$ed so v.doubtful

Thu: as above and lifts notwithstanding an outside chance of games at:

Colden Common (Otterbourne) v ANS (19:00) or
Farnham v Hartley W. (19:30)

Off to the Cider Derby between Bridgwater Town and Taunton Town tonight (Friday 12th). Should be the usual spiky affair even if it's supposed to be a 'friendly'.
