EFL Trophy 2019/20 Can't Post or Reply Privately

Yes, everyone's favourite competition is back and Friday's draw on Talk Sport promises to be unmissable Crazy.

In fact the groups have already been drawn except for the invited EPL clubs, so Friday's draw will merely entail allocating the 16 invited clubs to their pre-determined groups. For this, Talk Sport have got Jim White as anchor, Mike Parry and Perry Groves drawing the teams and Karl Robinson and some bloke from Fulham providing expert analysis.

Details of the 16 groups are here: https://www.efl.com/...ne-group-stage-draw/

No mention of a sponsor so I don't know if the Checkatrade deal has ended, but this is (or was) actually quite a lucrative competition by lower division standards. I guess it would have to be, otherwise it'd be an even bigger waste of time than it already is.

Presumably (hopefully) the Tottenham games to be played at the new stadium.

In the group stages yes, knockouts round are played at the home ground of the team drawn first.

Chelsea played two home games last season v AFC Wimbledon & Peterborough

"pre-determined groups " ah, the magic of the cup and "development teams" that sometimes include players in their 30s. I think I'll give it a miss
