Steps 1-6 provisional allocations 2019/20 Can't Post or Reply Privately

Just posting this for reference really as the original link (post #1053 on page 43 of the projections thread) will soon get lost amongst the comments. As in previous years, I assume the final constitutions will be posted on here as individual threads on a league by league basis as and when they're ratified at the respective league AGMs.

The provisional allocations are here:

Steps 1-4: https://cdn.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/...20-v170519_FINAL.pdf

Steps 5-6: https://cdn.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/...20-v170519_FINAL.pdf

Thanks Paul.

That other thread has become a right mess so it's nice to have the actual facts separated from all the conjecture and opinions.

The ongoing upward failure of Fire United is incredible. Didn't see Malvern going Hellenic but it makes sense. The rearrangement of Northern at Step 4 looks strange but I presume they're in a transition toward a third division there full of NE clubs? More thoughts when I can comprehend.

The NLP article states refers to Gateshead but not Ebbsfleet. Can we assume the latter are safe? There's been nothing on their website about the court case.

On that point, Steve was recently asking for ideas about a revamp, particularly of the restructuring section and citing that particular thread. That request seems to have gone under the radar of most on here so, if anyone wants to make any suggestions, they could add them to that brief thread which is here: https://nonleaguematters.co.uk/...forum_view_collapsed

As for the allocations themselves, my first reaction is that there'll be a fair few appeals being lodged from clubs below step 4!

I wholly agree. The dust is at last beginning to settle. Presumably the Ebbsfleet allocation, and thereby Braintree Town's destination are still provisional?

Also I notice that in steps 5 and 6 quite a few leagues have fewer than 20 clubs. Is it envisaged that the shortfall will be made up indue course? If so when, and on what basis? End of 2019/20 reprieves, or extra promotions from step 7 on a ppg basis with lateral transfers as necessary, or what? And how is this to tie up with the extra 20 clubs needed for the eighth Step 4 leauge in the pipeline?

In very broad terms I believe the final phase of restructuring at the end of next season will mainly be a reshuffling of existing numbers rather than requiring a whole host of additional new clubs. If so, it makes sense not to uplift a load of clubs to fill up all the step 6 leagues now(*) as you'd only end up dumping a load of clubs back down in a year's time.
EDIT - (*) even if you could find enough willing and able clubs in the first place!

Based on the numbers in Wazza's projections for 19/20, it would have needed only 8 further clubs from Step 7 for 20/21. On the provisional allocations it is now going to need a further 15 clubs.
Total 23 clubs from Step 7 for 20/21.

That's a net figure. Doubtless we'll lose a club or two along the way (Penzance-Mousehole merger/takeover will probably be one already) and hopefully some Step 6 clubs will be relegated for finishing bottom (I know some here won't agree with me you've got to have some jeopardy for finishing bottom of the league, even if that leaves a vacancy. After all the target for Step 6 is 18-20 clubs, not necessarily 20.)

in 20/21 step 6 will promote 76 teams to step 5 (as they in turn will promote upwards 4 extra to step2 and 20 to step 4) made up of top 4 of 18 step 6 leagues not swpl and 2 each from both the swpl. after this they will relegate the bottom club from each of the 20 leagues so that is a loss of 96 teams they will receive 12 of the bottom 14 teams at step 5 so that means 84 teams needed to be found they will then reduce the number of leagues from 20 - 17 so in 17 leagues they require 340 teams in total. -- the current allocations for 19/20 shows 381 teams in the 20 leagues. - 84 teams =297 which means then for 20/21 to bring up to 340 teams 43 teams are needed. However if each of the 20 leagues could have 20 teams this year (400 teams) then there would only be a need for 24 teams to be promoted from step 4 next year

Bourton Rovers & Moreton Rangers are both awaiting notification as to whether they have also been promoted along with Stonehouse Town. They should know by the end of the week.

Ladderman, no need to push it.
While the local paper website showed Stonehouse as promoted yesterday, I only saw a club tweet today - so it is quite possible they were waiting for confirmation when I posted the link

It is the pitch that will not be ready in time for our friendly at the beginning of July, the stand(s), floodlights, and cafe will all be sorted, the latter in fact will be open all through the week as well not just on match days.

And here I thought the FA couldn't possibly surprise me anymore with their idiocy and ineptitude. Good luck filling the Hellenic Division 1s to 16 (let alone 18), without using the Division 2s. It must be incredibly frustrating for the likes of Moreton - who have, from what I gather, been raising money all season to get their ground up to Step 6 standards - to essentially be told that they're competing in an entirely pointless league (and even more frustrating for the other teams who have recently moved across into the Division 2s).

If we then assume that this will be the precedent going forward, the clubs with Step 6 ambitions will all have to move out of the Division 2s, or risk losing their players to clubs at Step 7 who are actually able to go up. And, at this point, it's already seemingly too late for these clubs to move back to Step 7, so they've likely got at least another meaningless season to play through.

It doesn't sound like they will, but Moreton Rangers really should appeal this astronomically stupid decision.

The simple solution would just be to give the Hellenic Division Twos Step 7 status. From what I've seen, the quality of football would certainly merit that.
