Staffordshire County Senior League 2019/20 Can't Post or Reply Privately

A couple of current Staffordshire County Senior League member clubs have made announcements for the 2019/20 season - that will need to be ratified at the league's A.G.M.

1. Norton Wanderers have morphed into a new club - City of Stoke F.C. and will relocate to The North Stafford Sports Club facility off Whisper Lane, Butterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 4EB (the old Shamblers F.C. ground). CoSFC first team would retain Norton Wanderers place in SCSL Div. 1.

2. Ball Haye Green F.C. and Staffordshire Moorlands F.C. have "merged". Ball Haye Green F.C. first team to play in division one and second team in division two. It is proposed that the first team will play at Pointon Park, Cheddleton alongside Leek C.S.O.B.'s 1st and 2nd teams while BHG FC 2nd team would play at Birchall Playing Fields in Leek. Although Ball Haye Green FC carried out improvements to the facilities at Westwood College before the start of last season to ensure that the facilities were brought up to SCSL Div. 1 standard (such as installing dugouts) the pitch they and Staffs Moorlands F.C. shared last season was not maintained to a very satisfactory standard throughout the season by the college and their contractors leading to a number of problems. Very much requiring ratification by the league would be BHG's proposal to play all of the 1st team home fixtures in midweek at Pointon Park to avoid clashing with Leek C.S.O.B. fixtures.

Due to the resignation from the league of Newcastle Town Reserves last season the SCSL switched all four of it's cup finals from the (very unpopular) Lyme Valley Stadium to Hanley Town's Potteries Park. The league were delighted with the response with increased attendances at the cup finals. Agreement has been reached for all four finals to be held at Hanley Town for the 2019/20 season.

Cannock United are listed in the new Division Four of the Midland Football League so presumably the one in the Staffs is the Reserves, or is it the other way round?

Red Star Alma have become Bloxwich United AFC.

Florence resigned from the league and are to concentrate on youth football.

Florence players and management have joined newly formed Staffordshire Victoria, who I believe will be based at Fenton Manor Sports Complex.

Foley Meir Reserves, Keele University Reserves and Acorn Albion have dropped out.

I presume the Cannock Utd side in Div. 2 are now the second team.

Stone Dominoes will play at Yarnfield for another 12 months at least after coming to a deal with the Staffordshire FA. The club were at risk of losing the ground due to rising maintenance costs. The county FA have taken ownership of the ground after striking a deal with club owner and founder Bob Bowers and family.

Hawkins Sports still have a side though they seem to have disappeared from the WMRL .

What is the story with Tunstall Town? Only yesterday this was in the news mentioning that Tunstall Town were ground sharing with Stone Dominoes

https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/...-saved-after-2966970

"Wellbeing Park is also home of Tunstall Town"

Both TT and COS twitter makes no mention of a merger... Tunstall's Facebook page is talking about friendlies etc

I'm a little confused too - the opening post in this thread stated that it was Division One side Norton Wanderers who were becoming City of Stoke, but now it seems that Tunstall Town have merged with Norton Wanderers to become City of Stoke, hence the first team takes Tunstall's premier division place, and the reserves are lined up in Division One, taking Norton Wanderers place.
