Good to see in these days of modern technology the announcement of the new royal arrival still being displayed on an easel
Obviously important that this sort of practice must still be maintained according to brexit voters

I need to have the last word, as it always looks as if I am right !

Mixed race and ginger ...let's hope it ain't short sighted as well.
As a poet once almost said of another one of the chinless brood.."ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes, 20 million quid a year for life I suppose."
I wonder if his grandad will be invited to the christening? Awkward......

I'm not a great fan of Danny Baker, and given the PC climate we live in it was undoubtedly a major error of judgment to publish the photo ... but racist? I doubt it.

Having seen the photo I would say it was simply a comment on royal privilege.

I was wrong about the surname. For some reason Philip decided to use his Grandparents surname Mountbatten(Battenberg) when he married Liz. So the child’s name is actually Archie Harrison Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderberg-Glücksburg Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

Considering you are someone who's happy to taint 17.4million Brexit voters with the racist brush because they want to control unfettered and unrelenting mass immigration I'm bloody shocked that you would judge the comparison of a new born child with black heritage to a chimpanzee as acceptable.

If you're unsure about this I suggest you ask a someone who's black themselves and see what their opinion is( assuming you actually know anyone who is black).
Let me know how you get on ........cheers!

It was ill-judged and stupid, and as soon as that was pointed out to him he deleted it and apologised.

If you’re at all familiar with his work then you’d know that there was no racist intent at all. Indeed, the idea of monkeys dressed as famous people is a humorous trope in his Radio 5 show.

He claimed not to have realised that the baby’s mother was mixed race. I can believe that because I was wasn’t really aware either ... I’ve go no interest in the Royal Family.

Re: [Yatesman] The Royal Baby [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

You are posting nonsense.

The only person who knows Baker’s motives in doing what he did is Baker.

The rest of us can only look at the evidence and draw our own conclusions.

Is there any other evidence that Baker is racist? No.

Does Baker do silly things? Yes

Was Baker contrite? Yes

I am no great fan of Baker but I see not one shred of evidence that Baker was being racist in the tweet he made.

Now I realise from past experience that you are not one who forms opinions based on evidence. You are guided by your prejudices. There is no point in me asking you what evidence you have to support the conclusion you have reached. It’s not the way you operate.

.... tagging on to address the other point you made. Were I to seek the opinion of a black person I would ask them what I asked you. Where’s the evidence?

That black people may experience racism does not mean that Baker’s tweet was racist. What others do has no bearing on what Baker did. I suspect that is too difficult a concept for you to grasp, though.

You have no evidence that my opinions are not evidence based simply because I don't bother revealing my sources on a chat forum to someone with a closed mind.
Ask any scientist and they will tell you that a Lack of Evidence is Evidence of Nothing...........Now THAT'S a concept for you to mull over.

Now then, Baker was stupid and is not particularly funny and even if we can accept it wasn't intended to be racist, it's a great lesson in contrition from lefty types who like to throw around the racist word with Impunity at their political foes.

The hanging out of Baker and millions less sophisticated and less privileged is where that leads to.

The only good thing to emerge from this current controversy is that I may well resume listening to Radio 5 on a Saturday morning now that the drivel ridden Baker show has been consigned to history.Cool
