Essex Senior League Can't Post or Reply Privately

Any news? I can find an obviously out-of-date provisional constitution from early June but nothing later.

I think itís their first team with their second and third teams in the Essex & Suffolk Border League.

I read an article earlier that their new manager used to manage Heybridge Swifts Reserves and they've taken their place in the division, but whether or not some of the players are moving to Tiptree Jobserve I don't know.

Re: [FCUtdWill] Essex Senior League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Someone has tweeted (@essexfootie) that only one team will be relegated from the Essex Senior League.

NLM currently shows a 2 team relegation zone. Does anyone know if it is 1 or 2 teams being relegated and where this is documented. When I asked @essexfootie for proof he was unable to provide any details.

This is in the ESL handbook but makes no reference to the team second from bottom:

Irrespective of any provision contained within the Rules, the Clubs finishing in bottom position in each of the fourteen Step 5 divisions will be relegated to Step 6 and will not be reprieved, as determined by the LC.

Unfortunately these are the 2017/18 NLS Reglations, not this season's.

Re: [BDA_85] Essex Senior League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

I've emailed the league secretary:

Good Afternoon,
Please can you confirm how many teams will be relegated from the Essex Senior League at the end of this season? The regulations on the ESL webpage are for 2017/18.
Many thanks

And got the following response:

Thank you for showing an interest in Essex Senior League. The FA have advised that there will be one promotion and one relegation this season; I don't understand your comment re the regulations on the ESL webpage are for 2017/18 as I have just checked and verified that they are 2018/19 regulations.

Regards
Michelle Dorling
League Secretary
Essex Senior Football League

The ESL regulations are titled 2018/19 but as Paul has said, the NLS regulations within the ESL Regulations are for 2017/18 season.

Re: [BDA_85] Essex Senior League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Sounds like a mix up somewhere. Either way, the 2018/19 regs are clear:

Step 5 and Step 6
The Clubs in the bottom two places in each of the fourteen divisions at Step 5 at the end of the Regular Season will be relegated and placed in the most geographically appropriate division of Step 6. These Clubs will be replaced by the nineteen Clubs finishing in first position in each of the Leagues at Step 6 at the end of the Regular Season together with the required number of Clubs finishing in second position at the end of the Regular Season on a points per match ratio. If there are insufficient Clubs to fill vacancies Clubs finishing second to bottom of the Step 5 divisions will be reprieved so that the best such Club shall be reprieved first.
