KENT SENIOR CUP - Was the 1961-62 over 2 legs or replays Dover v Ashford Can't Post or Reply Privately

KENT SENIOR CUP FINAL 1961-62 Dover 4 Ashford 1
This was a KSC Final replay, or possibly a second replay.
Can anyone tell me the score(s) of the original match(es)
Were these the original match and then a replay as someone has this down as 1-1 draw followed by another score (not known)

OR, was this a trial two-legged final? - not sure on that one! Thanks

The Dover history site has two games at the end of 1961/62 that were both drawn 1-1...

http://dover-southernleague.tripod.com/id21.html

...and there's a note saying replay was to be played at the start of the following season which it was...

http://dover-southernleague.tripod.com/id22.html

...I'd have thought that the first two games were the original one-off final and then a replay but the results list shows those two games as being home and then away for Dover - no neutral ground.

1962/63's final was definitely a one-off and I think KSC finals generally were apart from a spell later in the 1960's.

Along with the note that the replay was held over til 62/63, there's also a note that the two leg aggregate score was 1-1.

As both games ended 1-1, that could mean that the 2nd game, which went to extra time, was 0-0 after 90 minutes. Or it could mean something else entirely.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Thanks Jeff for your reply. This seems to be a bit of a quandary - I'll have to find the reports of the games and see what they say or add it to my list of KCFA queries to see if their handbook states anything about a 'trial' of a 2-legged final. Regards, Tony

Many thanks for reply. So that's added a bit more into the 'mix' - I can only surmise that this was a 'trial' 2-leg affair and for reasons only known to KCFA (for the moment) they restored the one-off cup final the following season with the final ties at Gillingham until the 2-legged final was re-introduced in 1965-66.

Definitely two legs. Both Dover and Ashford protested to the K.C.F.A. about this - they wanted one game at Folkestone.
The rules had to be amended to allow new signings to play in the final replay at the start of 1962-63 otherwise there wouldn't have been 11 players on each side.
