And the winner is.... United Bid. The co-bid of USA, Mexico and Canada will host the World Cup in 2026. This will be the 3rd time for Mexico and the 2nd time for the USA.This could play into England's favour for 2030 since China might not be able to bid, Asia will host the World Cup in 2022, and the Argentina/Uruguay/Paraguay bid might be too soon, South America hosts straight after North/Central America.

The biggest winners from the 2026 bid will be Corporate USA.

Will all three hosts qualify automatically, but then I donít think it will be an issue if it is a 48 team tournament

FIFA are considering giving all 3 hosts automatic qualification which would be 3 of the allocated places our of 6 available for CONCACAF. The decision for this will be taken by FIFA on 5th June 2019, probably at the next FIFA Congress.

The 2026 World Cup Final will be played in a NFL stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, and not a purpose built MLS stadium.

The Met Life stadium is absolutely superb, including for 'soccer'. No soccer-specific stadium in the MLS holds more than 30,000.

60 out of the 70 games are being played in the USA.

Joint bid my @rse. Money talks as ever.

60 of the 80. Still skewed, but not quite as bad. The other 20 equally split between Canada & Mexico.

In fairness to the USA, when they hosted the World Cup before, nearly all the matches were near sellouts played in front of big crowds. I seem to remember Italia 90 was played in half full stadiums unless Italy or Brazil were playing. All the Latin American nations will have huge support wherever their games are played in N. America due to the large diaspora.

None of the 7 Group matches I went to at Italia 90 were played in half full grounds. None of the matches involved Italy or Brazil.

Euro 1980 in Italy was the one with the really low attendances. Around 15,000 for two of England's games, 11,000 for a game involving West Germany and another involving Holland, and less than 5,000 for Greece v Czechs. Different times....https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_1980

Likewise - I went to six and they were all pretty full, again none involving Brazil or Italy.
It was still a dire world cup football-wise........
