Union Berlin/S C Staaken 1919 17/18/March Can't Post or Reply Privately

Saturday March 17 Bundesliga 2 Union Berlin Jahn Regensburg 2-2 21248 Entry Block A1 41 Euro Prog 2 Euro Badge 4.95 Euro

Match ticket bought online.Berlin Welcome card which includes transport which is not available with match ticket. Caught the S3 from Alexanderplatz which now goes direct to Kopenick unlike last year. Programmes bought at the station exit and an easy walk to the ground which you passed on the train. A badge was bought from a club stall on the way to the ground. Very cold however the game was good with Union scoring on half time with the second away equaliser coming at the end of the game.

Sunday March 18 Regionalliga Nordost Babelsberg 03 Oberlausitz Neugersdorf Entry 22 Euros ticket bought online however discovered when I got back to our hotel after the Union game that this had been called off for the weather and an anti facist demonstation which would have been taking place in Potsdam when the game was on.

I had already determined other games were available and checked the kicker website which confirmed on Sunday morning the following game was taking place

NOFV Oberliga Nord (5Th tier) SC Staaken Optik Rathenow 2-2 162 Entry 5 Euros (Pensioner) Prog Free Badge 5 Euros

Caught the RE from Potsdamer Platz to Berlin-Staaken (Berlin zone B) which took about 15 minutes. The train was actually going to Rathenow. At Staaken you come out of the only entry/exit to the station cross the road turn left then first right and there is the ground. Entry was between the changing rooms and a very nice clubhouse. No cover at the ground and only 1 row of seating with a small amount of standing behind on the near side. Badge bought at entry point. The home team were 7th with the visitors top and had good support in the 162 crowd. Pitch was 3G. An excellent game with both teams wanting to attack while on Saturday the home team were winning it was the away side with the second home equaliser coming at 90+3. A new ground for me unlike Union and was very enjoyable. Nice programme as well.

Bought Football - Woche on Monday with good match reports and details of the following weeks games together with the name of the ground.
