Former Newsreader Richard Baker has died aged 93.

Nice interview on Radio 4 yesterday evening with Andrew, Richard Baker's son. Safe in the knowledge his dad would be home later, Andrew said goodnight by rubbing the TV screen affectionately as Richard read the nine o'clock news.

Polish born actor John Bluthal, best known for playing Frank Pickle in The Vicar of Dibley, has died aged 89.

"Polish born" at a time when his race/religion meant his living a long life was pretty miraculous. His place of birth is now part of Ukraine.

Worth looking up his obit for his wide range of roles over many decades.

As the voice of Commander Zero, maybe he was the last link with the fabulous Fireball XL5 Shocked

Very sad news - the death has been announced of former professional cyclist Paul Sherwen at the age of 62. Paul rode in seven Tour de France races in the 1980s before joining Channel 4ís cycle commentary team, where he was one half of the excellent commentary-pairing with Phil Liggett.

Those two were how I came to love cycling and the tour. a sad loss and complete pro.

Interesting but was it really that easy to get across the border in Nazi-occupied France to Switzerland?

Pity windyDCFC's post was deleted - I'm sure it would not have offended anyone.
