I know this is below most radars for info on this sort of record, but with talk of Man City's premier league winning run, there must be lower league clubs who have mega league runs.

The two recent runs talked about was all-games (Wythenshawe Town and last season TNS) but if you look at league games only their runs are from memory 23 for Wythenshawe Town and 22 for TNS.

However if you drop into the Blackburn Combination Div 2, there is Beehive FC who are on 9 from 9 this season, following on from their promotion campaign from Div 3 last season where they went the whole season of 18 games without dropping a point (they were called HoleI'Th'Wall FC then).

So that puts them on 27 consecutive league wins. Today's game was abandoned due to an injury - from their Twitter: "Game abandoned after 20 mins due to a tackle that caused a broken leg. The game is void & will be replayed in the future."

If you take the steps literally downwards then this would rank at Step 13.

Does any evidence exist about what the longest winning run for league games is?

Upper Horfield Old Boys played 30 league games in the Bristol Downs League Division 3 in season 1938-39, their first season in the League. Unfortunately, they could not extend this any further because of the intervention of Mr Hitler.

In these 30 matches Les Farley scored 102 goals.

In the Swindon & District League, Tawny Owl won all 16 of their games in 2015-16, all 20 games in 2016-17 and their first 6 games this season before their first ever league defeat at home to Ashton Keynes on 23 November. So, a very impressive 42 consecutive wins.

I think from memory my former club Westgate (Bath) managed 89 wins on the spin if you include as wins Somerset Junior Cup SF and Final victories, both on penalties after drawn games. There was talk of a countdown from 95 to 100 making the national press. However we lost 2-3 v Saltford crown in the Bath League. Sadly I lost my Westgate records due to PC issues many years ago and have never bothered to attempt retracing them.

I think that Shepton Beauchamp managed maybe 40+ wins in the 1980s before losing 1-0 at Purnells in the Junior Cup?
