SPFL2 relegation playoffs Can't Post or Reply Privately

Still a few weeks to go until we know which 3 teams will be involved.
But it looking like Cowdenbeath are strong candidates to finish last in SPFL2. In the LL East Kilbride are only a few points away from confirming there playoff place against the HL winners. The HL has 3 teams with a real chance of making the playoffs. But it's highly likely that it'll be either Buckie Thistle or Cove Rangers, that make the playoffs.

Cowdenbeath game against Edinburgh was a big one at this stage of the season but Clyde, despite Barry Ferguson resigning couldn't improve on their form losing at home to Montrose. It looks like a either Cowdenbeath or Clyde for the play-offs, I'm going with Cowdenbeath.

Should be a good race for the Highland League this season with all 3 teams scoring goals for fun.

Do we know which (if any) of the highland league teams have the facilities and desire to be promoted?

All have the facilities. They have no option but to accept promotion. Buckie, Formartine and Cove are particularly keen.

Yes they are using other grounds. Yes they would be allowed to get promoted. They had a deal signed to ground share in the SPL for 2016/17 had they gone up. Their new ground will be ready in 2018.

If 3 of the 4 teams that I mentioned end up in the playoffs. Has anyone seen the teams & got an opinion on the likeliest team to be lining up in the SPFL2 next season?

EK seem to be the club most wanting promotion, the club appears to have been created with playing in the SPFL in mind, whereas Brora don't seem to want it.

What's your evidence that they want it more than Cove or Buckie?

Just my opinion based on HL teams (Brora) being more lukewarm to the SPFL due to travel costs. Cove and Buckie are located further south than Brora so probably don't have the same concerns.

As you would expect in a division of only 10, there are plenty of head-to-heads left yet. Whilst it's not looking good for Cowbenbeath after last night, none of the bottom five can yet breathe easy. Half of each's remaining fixtures are against their direct rivals, so it's in their own hands. Of particular note : Clyde v Cowdenbeath on Tuesday 21 March and Cowdenbeath v Clyde on Saturday 1st April.

You can throw in that Cowden and Clyde have both played 2 games less than Edinburgh City.

Cowdenbeath have lost 6 games in a row & picked up 1 win in 10 & lost the rest. That's relegation form in anyone's book.

Have you been able to cast an eye out on EK, just in case you end up in the playoffs & against them?

From what you seen this season do you think Cowdenbeath can lift themselves off the bottom by the end of the season?

If the worst should happen and Cowden are relegated, what's the outlook for the club then?

I guess teams like Cowdenbeath & East Stirling will be waiting for SPFL3 to be created & a fast return. Albeit at lower division.

A crucial game coming up for your lot against Clyde. They've got Edinburgh City before they play you. Looking at Clyde abysmal form, I guess an Edinburgh win would be handy for your team. Just as side issue, has anything come of the new stadium being built in EK & Clyde being part of this?

We've got 2 games home and away against Clyde which I think will make or break things.

Edinburgh City play both Berwick and Clyde this week, if Berwick were to lose to City they would go below them and would be back in trouble, a win would probably see them safe enough.

Re the EK ground its gone a bit quite recently but Clyde have nothing to do with it anymore.

The link with Clyde and East Kilbride was more the town and on the ground beside the junior ground, EK Thistle, it isn't with EK Lowland League side.
There is a large area beside The Showpark which Clyde had enquired about developing, but there has been no update on it recently

Looking like Cowdenbeath in the playoff, but don't think they'll go down. All the league 2 teams have looked competitive this year.
