A very odd situation where the club's case was presented by a man who had been suspended from football by the FAW. Player A's contract was found to date from 1 January 2019 not November 2018. Why was the contract not copied to the FAW as required by rule? I assume that the panel - unnamed - heard evidence from the official who signed the contract, and the player, and were satisfied as to the veracity of their evidence and concluded that the January 2019 contract was indeed genuine and valid? That being the case the points deduction was for seven matches which entirely coincidentally amounted to 21 points and so was sufficient to see the club remain in tier two and relegate Holywell.

Hmmm. Big Hmmm.
So can Holywell now put in any appeal on this? No points deducted for the act of failing to submit a contract? And weren't there a list of offences, not just one player playing matches without being registered?
Anyway, all being well, if Bangor DO start in still in Cymru Alliance, hopefully they will find very few Bangor supporters watching them.

Bangor City's 42 point deduction has been halved to 21 points on appeal - just enough for them to survive at step 2 on goal difference...http://www.bangorcityfc.co.uk/...stay-up-2438195.html. Holywell are instead relegated to step 3.

Club now have a charge to answer of use of an ineligible player last season. I have no idea of the opposition and more importantly the result of the game but if proven in a game that they won then the implications could be serious.

And, just before that news broke, Bangor announced that they're appealing against the remaining 21 point ban "to clear the name of the club."

Also announced today that Stephen Vaughan Junior has been appointed manager. Presumably he, as chairman, made the appointment. The article announcing the appointment on the club website induces the usual mix of nausea and laughter: http://www.bangorcityfc.co.uk/...manager-2441366.html

They are not "playing". The club has claimed to have signed them but the small print says that transfers are 'subject to approval from the Football Association of Wales' which is a bit awkward seeing that there is a transfer ban on the club.

I assume they're all being recruited by the Director of Football appointed by Bangor in May. He's an Italian who worked with Mosta FC in Malta when Vaughan got involved with them a few years ago. One can only speculate on the full story behind all this..

They always have had. Bangor isn't that far from the English border.

Allegedly, they haven't paid the locals who played for them last season.

In line for the Wrexham job? Angelic

Still curious about their new Italian owner, and I'm not convinced SVJ's departure as manager represents an entirely clean break from the past. We'll see.

Indeed - be interesting to see who the mystery investors are - especially given the links between the DoF being previously at Mosta. The Vaughans have form at least one of their former clubs for selling the club to mates and then buying it back/ staying involved...

I am told that the FAW are monitoring this situation very carefully. I am lead to believe that they are still going to try to place charges on the club and its owners.

That would be an utterly bizarre appointment. His last managerial role was 10 years ago at Tranmere, and he didn't exactly cover himself in glory there. Can't imagine he knows much about the clubs & players of the Welsh pyramid. Won't last a month.
