WPL Euro Qualification Can't Post or Reply Privately

'Explained' here

http://welshpremier.co.uk/...from-the-WPL/103485/

So, as I understand it, if Airbus win the Welsh Cup, the side in eighth place will take part in the play-offs, but if The New Saints win the double, they don't.

Alternative timetables for the play-offs as follows (from FAW website)

If The New Saints win the JD Welsh Cup

MBi Llandudno who finished third in the Dafabet WPL will gain an automatic place in the UEFA Europa League Qualifying Rounds along with Bala Town. This is due to TNS already successfully achieving a UEFA Champions League Qualifying Round place.
With regards to the WPL Play-Offs for the opportunity for UEFA Europa League Qualifying Round, this would see four clubs compete with the potential fixtures:

Semi-Finals

Newtown AFC v Airbus UK Broughton | Saturday 7th May
gap Connah's Quay v Carmarthen Town | Saturday 7th May

The winners meeting in the Final on Saturday 14th May with home advantage going to the side that finished highest in the League.

I see Llandudno have requested an emergency loan of 30k from Conwy council to fund their their Euro games that are coming up. Has any club in the past had to go to local authority/FAW for financial help in these circumstances?

They should be asking the FAW not the local council. It's not that the FAW will have problems loaning 30k with the money from the Euro's on it's way soon.

I was under the impression that the FAW had forwarded advances on prize money in the past. Can anyone remember a specific instance of this?

Loans have been provided in the past and monies returned from the amounts paid by UEFA to the FAW for the clubs representing Wales.
Llandudno will have a minimum of 200K Euros.

Thought so! So Llandudno could have borrowed the money from the FAW and made some money out of the shirt sponsorship rather than giving it to the local council! DOH!

"The club said costs include flights to Geneva for the draw ..."

The draw is broadcast live, so why the need to fly to Geneva ?

If UEFA actually insist on club reps being present, surely it is UEFA who should be funding the necessary flights - there are many far less prosperous countries than Wales for whom flight costs would be an even greater issue.

I have been lucky enough to represent Barry Town at the draws and can confirm the clubs pay all expenses for the draws. Clubs are fined if not at the draw and announced before the draw takes place. This is due to clubs having to rearrange games due to things like ground sharing and some clubs wishing to be home first. If you look at Europa League 2015-16 on Wiki you can see how many changes there are together with the number of clubs that change grounds and of course Gibraltar and San Marino only use 1 ground.

I see they are off to play Glenavon on 18th June in a warm up for Euro games!! More local authority funding?
