Semi Final Draw

The New Saints v gap Connahs Quay
Port Talbot Town v Airbus UK
Both matches will be played at Newtown on the afternoon of Sat April 2nd. From FAW website;

The Football Association of Wales is pleased to announce a JD Welsh Cup Semi Final double header with both matches being played at Latham Park Newtown on Saturday, 2 April 2016.

The first match, in a feast of Welsh Cup Football, will be played between Port Talbot Town and Airbus UK with a 1pm kick-off. The second match for fans to enjoy will be between holders TNS and gap Connah’s Quay, which will kick-off at 17:15 and will be shown live on S4C’s Sgorio
FAW Head of Competitions Andrew Howard added: “The opportunity to host a JD Welsh Cup Semi Final double-header provides us with a feast of football.
"I hope the event develops a strong following amongst Welsh football fans and this decision will be vindicated by the attendances and also the standard of football on show on the excellent Latham Park surface.
“Another important and attractive factor is the fan-friendly and fantastic price of just £8 for the two games. Spectator facilities at the stadium are excellent with the social club having undergone a recent refurbishment, so come rain or shine; the fans will enjoy a comfortable day.
“The event has all the ingredients to grow, so perhaps the experiment of 2016 will be a permanent fixture in our sporting calendar for years to come.”
At least the FAW will not need to put a bus on for hoppers to reach the second match this time! Wink

I have been keeping my eyes open for a statement / explanation / apology from the FAW about what happened regarding the bus. There doesn't seem to be one in the public domain. Have any of those booked on the bus had one?

Given that the first match might go to extra time and penalties, it might not be over till 3.30pm. I don't think there are two sets of dressing rooms there, so there probably needs to be that length of time to get the teams from the first match washed and dressed before the second lot arrive!

If the first semi-final does not go to extra time, there is probably the opportunity to watch an hour of a Montgomeryshire League fixture, depending if Maesyrhandir, Newtown Rovers or Newtown Wanderers are at home that day.

Sunday May 1st according to the FAW at the start of the season.

Measyrhandir play their home games at Latham Park, so they won't be at home. Newtown Wanderers' "ground" (pitch) is a short walk from Latham Park.
Maesyrhandir also play homes games sometime at Riverside/Trehafren Fields like Newtown Wanderers as well as using Latham Park too. There will probably be at least one team at home that weekend at Newtown Rovers play their home fixtures at nearby Maldwyn Leisure Centre.

Venue announced today as Wrexham FC's Racecourse Ground and kick off now will be 4.15pm
