Non League Projections 2016/17

Couldn't wait any longer. 9 months of editing awaits. Here is the first draft of my non league projections for 2016/2017. A few notes; Step 7 promotions are purely based on league position for now. I've tried to maximise the number of step 7 promotions and minimise the number of Step 6 relegations as possible. I know a lot of current Step 6 teams don't and won't have the required grade by March 31st. I'm giving them till that date before confirming they won't have the grade and be demoted to step 7. I have a thing for nice even numbered leagues, I realise this won't be the ideal case in a number of leagues next season. I've also no idea what is gonna happen in the Essex Senior, and whether or not they will finally relegate someone. For now, I will take the 'easier' option and move Stansted and Takeley to the Eastern Counties. Any queries or corrections please let me know. Thanks. https://goo.gl/IYH40c

Regrettably, I can't argue with your placement of the only club I''ve so far looked at in the chart. Let's hope that's one club which will necessitate a future edit!

As a Kidderminster Harriers fan (albeit a very casual one now) I’d actually relish a season in the Conference North. Some very interesting fixtures based on projections if nothing else. The match against Leamington might throw up a historical grudge, and a league fixture with Worcester City would be the first in a considerably long time.

Ware back in Ryman North. Wasn't there something about the FA saying they wouldn't sanction/expect clubs to switch back after only a year in a new league? Not that I think we would mind one way or the other.

.... and Daventry and Rugby back in the Southern Central - personally, I like it! Otherwise this West Midlands based hopper might have been left contemplating purchasing a 2016/17 season ticket at Leighton Town!

They have done, however they've moved to their new home of the Wessex League. All speculation of course.

Yes this one is out on a limb. There are so many Step 7 leagues in the north that if each league somehow promoted a side there would be no room for Swallownest in the NCEL. The bonus is if e.g. Glapwell get promoted from the CMLN instead of Appleby Frodingham then Swallownest would be in the NCEL.

Glapwell are saying that they probably won't apply to go up, or if they do apply they fail. Because they won't have the floodlights up in time. But there's always a small chance that they will do. Ah, the same Glapwell that quit step 4 because of ground issues a few years back!

I didn't realise their floodlights had been brought down since their resignation from the NPL in 2011. Have their legal issues changed since, and therefore floodlights could be reinstated?

Ah, the same Glapwell that quit step 4 because of ground issues a few years back! Wasn't the issue with the local council? I believe it was yes, they were a decent evostik D1 side but the local authority would not help finance improvements to the ground so they took the drop. Shame really because they were a lovely bunch.

If Erith Town got promoted surely they will be in Isthmian League North? Since they are a bit north then VCD Athletic's ground.

Its decided by proximity to the Dartford crossing. So if it comes down to a straight choice Phoenix are probably nearest followed by VCD and then Thamesmead. So when they are at step 4 they are the first to be considered.

I was going by Unicorn's provided explanation about the Dartford Tunnel, as well as being undecided about which SLC team to move ILS. However, I do need to put my FA hat on and realise that you are most likely right, and it is very likely that Erith Town would be promoted into the ILN. As a result, Ware are back in the SLC and Erith have moved to the ILS.

Do explain Brian? I'm confused why they would face a two division drop. All updated following yesterdays results.

According to yesterday's NLP, your favourite man at the FA - Mike Appleby - is leaving his post shortly, along with competitions manager Steve Clarke, David Barber and Matt Phillips. It'll be interesting to see who picks up the baton for overseeing the make-up of the non-league pyramid following his departure!
