Crewe?! Why?

I attended a Northern Ireland home World Cup qualifier v Bulgaria in Sheffield in 1973 but that was held there because of the bombings, shootings etc going on in NI. I Hadn't heard The Troubles had kicked off again.

Crewe?! Why?

Why not ?

Qatar at St Georges Park all week training and wanted a game or two.

N Ireland need a warm up game before the serious matter of Romania a week later , so Crewe is an ideal venue for a low key friendly.

Obviously Qatar wanted to see the North of England and a lovely part of England so the busy touristy town of Crewe is ideal.

I've invited Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani around for a brew to reciprocate for his hospitality pre Xmas 2013.

Tickets are now on sale for the Qatar versus Northern Ireland fixture on Sunday 31st May. The full international will be taking place at the Alexandra Stadium with a 5pm kick off.

Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £5 for Senior Citizens and £1 for Under-16s.

You can contact our ticket office on 01270 252610 to book your tickets now.

It's a very low key affair , I can imagine maximum subs used.

ONLY main stand open !!

Not segregating the Qatari nutters from the rest of the crowd could be a problem.

Is the main chant against Qatar "You're Shiite and you know you are"?

Many of the International friendlies played in London are programmeless.
