Stockwood Wanderers apparently play in Stockwood Lane so could be on pitch formerly used by Stockwood Green and adjacent to Cutters Friday/Bristol Telephones. No doubt someone will clarify to prevent any instances of "ARS"!

Could lead to some good derbies in the coming seasons. Highbridge with Burnham Utd and Berrow. Pensford with Chew Magna and Clutton. Stockwood Wanderers with Stockwood Green and Cutters

Didn't they play next door to Cutters at Stockwood Cricket Club? This looks as if it's been unused for several years according to Google's satellite pics.

Don't care much for satellite imagery, they were playing there in Dec 13 when I visited Bristol Telephones, Popped over at half time to check who it was playing there.

The last image on Google Earth is from July 2013 and you can see work is ongoing in the cricket club site and that the grass has been cut. I see from that shot there are three railed pitches in complex next door. The newest one being outside Cutter's clubhouse, it's appeared between 2009 and 2013.

Other than there is now a division 1 west and east. The name Taunton United is suprising too. Not sure who these are, another name for North Curry, formerly Creech? Taunton United is the name of a former club in the town who then formed the original Taunton Town who went out of existence in the 1930s Interestingly North Curry are applying for a place in the Taunton and District League.

Not sure but I believe that Taunton United/Taunton Town were previously Newton's and Taunton earlier in their history and were a works team.

There's a rumour doing the rounds in my area that due to their current financial plight, Bridgwater Town have ditched their reserves and the local college has taken over the team.

In my opinion It's about time that the SFA set up a Somerset Premier Combination with 2 regional feeder leagues. The SFA know my views on this. Personally it seems that Div2 W and Div2 E have the feel of junior football under the monickor of Senior Status. I think that it is only the Premier Division that has Step 7 status. The Premier Division to me seems to have maintained its quality over the past decade+ which is pleasing.

Not sure but I believe that Taunton United/Taunton Town were previously Newton's and Taunton earlier in their history and were a works team. A few years ago I wrote Taunton Town's history which incorporated all the previous clubs going back to the 1890s. It was never published but I still have it and will dig it out and stick the relevant info on here when I can

They were also members of the Somerset Senior League for 1923/24 (I have the dates and results of all their fixtures). In 1921-22 & 1922-23 Newtons & Taunton were certainly competing in the West Somerset League competitions. In 1924-25 Taunton United Res were in the Somerset Senior League.

To clarify, North Curry have indeed become Taunton United 1610. A completely new and separate North Curry have joined the Taunton League! John
