I don't know whose ground it is, but it looks to me as if the host club's name starts with CLA. Probably Step 6, from the look of the ground. I've never been there, but could it be Clanfield?

It could be Chessington & Hook United? There's a big open field next to it for a helicopter to land and the cover behind the goal looks similar and is blue & white

Hmm, not sure, I don't remember any concrete type cover at C&H, just a little Atcost seated stand down the side and the covered standing behind the near goal (populated by armchairs on my last visit!).

Having looked at pictures of Radcot Road and the club badge, I would say that is not Clanfield 85.

The CLA could be a red herring. I read somewhere that the fictional club was something like Clapdown Rovers, so it could have been a fake sign.

I've had a quick look at google images for the few real teams that begin with CLA and none of them seem to fit either.

Re: [paulh66] Peter Crouch [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Virgin have made quite a few ads about Crouch joining Clapford United. One of them (possibly the whole lot put together) is three minutes long with plenty of views of the ground. May help someone come up with the venue - http://youtu.be/YkEerSjnKRI
It's not Chessington & Hook FC that's for certain.

The 01632 phone code on the advertising boards is ficticious. It's a code set aside for use by tv companies and the like.

I am shocked that we don't know where this ground is? Shocked

Something familiar about it though Unsure step 4 or 5 surely.

There is a brief shot of an advert for 'Muldoon Furniture Warehouses' but like the phone number, this is probably not real either as a Google map search directed me to Australia!

Sounds like a good guess. The Breakspear Road ground was only built in the mid-80's so it is a pity it looks a bit run-down now, although I suppose the ground graders must take the blame for clubs desperately trying to reach the requirements by using any bits of scrap metal that can be found.

It wasn't a guess. It was Google.

The stand - http://putajumperon.files.wordpress.com/...unstable-town-21.jpg from the PutAJumperOn blog (isn't that someone on here?) and

"The Premier League starts in jus 10 days and yesterday we had a special visitor.......
England striker Peter Crouch arrive on our front pitch by helicopter" from https://en-gb.facebook.com/TheClubhouseRuislip

Many thanks for all the interesting responses I should have known this having been to the ground a number of times but can't remember them all. Wasn't the ground round the other way in Ruislip days ?

That's correct, the pitch was turned through 90 degrees which explains why the stand is now behind one goal.
