G) A shot at Steve Buckner refereeing The 1990 W/C qualifier between El salvador & Netherland Antillies. Probably his last game as a football referee before retirement. Obviously better known for his cricketing umpire duties.

Obviously better known for his cricketing umpire duties. DRS on this one........finger on the red button...........tick frigging tock...........OUT !!!!!!! A favourite quiz question, and currently topical with The Ashes umpires in the firing line - Steve Bucknor is the only man ever to officiate at World Cup level at both cricket and football; he only took control of one football international, being the WC qualifier mentioned which was in October 1988. Good review there Chris. You're next man in.......... Used to follow cricket a lot more than I do now and always thought Buckner was a top class umpire. Seemed to lose the plot completely when he had one horrendous series umpiring in The India v Australia tests in 2008. Must have been also a decent football referee also in his time.
