GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!

The early punt finds the net. It is indeed the statue outside Curzon Ashton's ground, erected a couple of years ago to commemorate the three World Cup Winners born in Ashton under Lyne being Geoff Hurst, Jimmy Armfield and the unlikely figure of Simone Perrotta who was born and raised in the town before moving to Italy as a child.

Something I was completely unaware of until I stumbled across it whilst seeking something else, as you do.

I'd also stumbled on that statue somewhere over the past few months but hadn't thought to use it in a 20Q game. Seemed the obvious one to shoot for.
Perrotta's name also features in regular pub quiz questions and catches a few people out as being the last English born person to win a WC winners medal
