Have you seen any celebrities from TV etc. play in a match? I think I saw Ralf Little play for someone once, might have been Edgware, but that's all I can think of.

I saw Gary Kemp play football at Wembley in 1990, and DJ Steve Wright at Ashton Gate sometime in the early 1980s. I also saw Princess Zara Phillips in a hockey match in Cheltenham about ten years ago.

Simon Lenagan not that well known as an actor but has quite a few credits http://www.curtisbrown.co.uk/simon-lenagan//works/ has also managed Old Woodstock Town and played for Noth Leigh. His is the son of Ian Lenagan owner / shareholder of Wigan Warriors, Oxford United and Harlequins RLFC.

Never watched it again hence not knowing said actor.

John Bishop made 53 appearances for Southport in 1990 and 1991. Of course he didn't become well known till many years later - I believe at the time he played for Southport he was working as a sales rep.

Ralf played for a few clubs at semi-pro level. He was at Chertsey for a year or so. He was at Staines Town for a while as well but I don't know if he ever played for them. That's right, I think I may have seen him play for Chertsey also, an average player at best.

This seems to be one of the inevitable soap star charity things, loosely termed 'celebrities' so I'll put it in this thread, but all I want to know is WHERE IS THIS GROUND? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj5DanR8ZE4 there's a glimpse of a grandstand at the end of the video

As I've been playing with my scanner today, here's a 'star studded' lineup from a charity match at Bourne in 1978: http://www.flickr.com/...96024/in/photostream Despite having the team lineups, I think I can only recognise 3 of the 'celebrity' team (light shirts). Possibly the only picture I have showing Bourne's old stand (well the roof anyway), which was replaced in 1982 with a very similar structure, after the one in the photo was burned down.

Bill Oddie after that ?. Bloke behind him played villans in things like the Sweeney.

Highlights here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bglU-MAIL2A ...of some footage of the celebrity match on the Wembley pitch that took place before the 1986 Milk Cup Final between QPR and Oxford United. Celebrities in Oxford United kit include David Frost (in goal), Jimmy Hill and Dennis Waterman, while in a kit that looks nothing like QPR are Bobby Moore and Jimmy Tarbuck.
