Don't know much about Scottish non-league. Were they groundsharing, or is the old ground still there, & it's a move from one home ground to another?

Wishaw lost their own original home ground the best part of 20 years ago, and it was built over. They groundshared with Coltness United (now Newmains United) for a while and then played at Wishaw Sports Centre, a local council facility.

So this is a new ground which has been built. Hopefully it will give the club a push forward as they have been in the doldrums for many years.

You realise though, that the term Junior applies to status, not to age.

There was a time, in England Scotland, Wales and Ireland, that this was recognised in the football (and rugby football) worlds.

However, since the TV got a hold of the term, the term junior has applied to age (for the non-football fraternity)

You'll jalouse, that I'm not a great fan of TV nor reporters

There is a major difference between Juniors in England and Scotland though - in England, Junior status is a lower status, and an improving club can climb through Intermediate to Senior. In Scotland, the Juniors have a seperate organisation to the Seniors, (if both under the umbrella of the Scottish FA). This means that progress for Juniors is to the top of the Junior ranks, which is a fully semi-professional league, with good crowds and stadia.

Yes. we never introduced an intermediate area; although the so-called non-league Seniors as in the East of Scotland League, could fit into that label.

However, ultimately the same result; Junior refers to status, not age.

Well we did have Intermediates for a few seasons when the top Juniors got fed up with Seniors taking their best players without any recompense.
