Entries for the 2011-12 competition are now open. The format is the same as last year except for the following: All FA competitions will be scored on a similar basis as last season's FA Cup ie 1 point for each win with bonuses for reaching latter stages (1 pt for QF, 3 for SF, 5 for runner-up and 7 for the winner in the Trophy / Vase). FA Cup scoring as per last year. Entries are to be made by PM using the subject 'NLCL 2011-12' and will not be viewed by me until the entry period has closed. Please make sure all your teams are competing in the competitions you select them for as there will be no opportunity to change them after the entry period closes. If you do not use that subject name, I will assume the PM is a question and will look at it, but will stop if it appears to be an entry. I will only consider the last PM from each competitor. If you want to change your entry, please include all selections, not just the change. The entry date/time (used when teams are level) will be the date/time of the last entry. The entry period closes on Saturday August 6th at 2.45pm. If you look at last season's thread, you will see some examples of the entries and the updates throughout the season. You do not need to select a team for every competition if you don't want to. This allows anyone who want to only select for Northern/Southern/Isthmian areas to do so. If you check last year's formulas, you'll see which leagues I count as North/South/isthimian - for instance MFA is in the North comp - that's my choice Those who wish to compete for a cash prize (£10 per entry, all proceeds to be divided between top 3 sides, with split to be determined by the number of such entries), please indicate this on your entry form The rules / guidance: Entrants nominate 1 team per league from steps 1-5 + winners of FAT & FAV + an FA Cup team. The same team can be nominated twice (eg League & FA Cup, Trophy or Vase). Scoring (Leagues): 1st – 10pts, 2nd – 7pts, 3rd – 6pts, 4th – 5pts, 5th – 4pts, 6th – 3pts, 7th – 2pts, 8th – 1pt. Winners of play-off = +1pt An exclusion from the playoffs / promotion due to ground issues etc does not change the points for 1st-8th. Team in relegation spot = -5pts If a club's record is expunged before season end due to liquidation, they will be deemed to be in a relegation spot. Otherwise, they get the position where they finished after any points deductions are applied. Demotions due to post-season liquidation, ground grading, resignations etc. will not be considered in determining the relegation points. Re the step 5 leagues, regardless of actual relegation, the bottom 2 spots are relegation spots as far as this competition is concerned. Scoring (FA Vase, Trophy): For each win (nothing for walkover, byes, or expulsions) - 1 point Bonus points - QF- 1pt; SF- 3pts; Runner up - 5 pts; Winner - 7pts Scoring (FA Cup): For each win (nothing for walkover, byes, or expulsions) - 1 point Bonus points - 1st round proper - 1pt; 2nd round proper - 3pts; 3rd round proper - 5 pts; 4th round proper (or further) - 7 points You may pick any non-league side, including one starting in earlier rounds. Only win points can be obtained during qualifying rounds though. Teams only get the bonus for the furthest round they reach. Bonuses still apply even if your team has had a bye to get there. If your team is disqualified, you will not receive 'win' points for that round, even if your team won the tie. Bonus and earlier points are unaffected. In the event of a tie, teams will be placed in the order in which entries were received / last edited, earliest first. Interim positions will be based on current positions. Vase scoring will count towards step 5 points; FA Cup (even if selecting a step 5 side) and FA Trophy count towards step 1-4 points.
