Looks like three out of the four CL quarter finals are now all but done and dusted, just a question of which English club joins them.

I'd say Chelsea's chances are slim too after last night. I hate to say it but Man Utd could be on for another treble....

I can't see beyond Barca or Real for the CL winners and Chelsea are quite capable of winning at OT.

I think Man Utd have had the rub of the green this season (nothing new there) and hopefully City can turn them over in the FA Cup semi.

Fergie was top notch last night - claimed he didn't see the challenge which was one of the most stone-wall pens and straight reds this season (ie did a Wenger) - and then commented that they had had no luck with refereeing decisions for 7 years so they deserved a bit of the rub of the green - priceless.

More than most, cope, you should know how far the best of English are behind the best of Spanish this season. Crazy

Therefore, Schalke to win it. Tongue

Looks like three of the Europa League quarter finals are all but done and dusted as well.

I saw most of the Porto game on TV and they looked very impressive.

An all-Iberian semi-final with 3 from Portugal ?

I gather that Europa League Final tickets are available on certain Dublin websites at less than face value now that the "wrong" teams are still in!

Dynamo Kiev might have something to say about that. It's only 1-1 in their tie.

Indeed and that's the only one still live.

I seem to recall reading that in Greece (I think?) if one side has a 3 goal lead or more from the first leg in a two legged domestic game then the second leg doesn't happen. Might be worth considering this in the Champ/Europa Leagues with six seemingly 'dead rubbers' in prospect over the two competitions. Then again Spurs might beat Real Madrid 5-0 like Barca did earlier this season........oh hang on what was that flying past the window?

Re: [Isaac] Champions League draw [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Then again, thinking along those lines I'm sure there have been some remarkable comebacks from a 3 or 4 goal deficit in a two legged european match. I remember Celtic nearly overcoming the 5-0 first leg loss to Artmedia Bratislava a few years ago, and going out 5-4 on aggregate.

I think the Brazilian Cup has this system, although the second leg is only played if the away team takes a three(?) goal lead from the first leg. Under that system Tottenham and Shakhtar Donetsk would still get to play their Spanish opponents at home but Schalke would already be through to the semi finals.

Three Portugese clubs into the semi's, PSV looked to be in with a chance until the goalkeeping gaffe on the stroke of half time.
