That was about to be mine also!! 2005 Stampede etc!!

oh well only 2 left now to choose from......

Very good guess Doodle but not correct as I did not consider Reunion as a country and it is probably an administrative part of France(bit like Guadaloupe). You are completely on the right lines however with your guess as to where the stadium is.

Never got to bed so I can have my guess in this completely wild 20Q as well. Surely must be the highest number of Qs and Gs in such a span of time.

Is it Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar? I don't have a clue how many teams play there but as we shouldn't go for the obvious...

No, not the Francis Pain field in St Helena, may I just say welcome to the 20q game.

One further clue as I expect there will not be to many people eligible for q and guesses tomorrow is that some countries may be considered to have more then 1 national stadium e.g (UK with England,Scotland,N ireland, Wales) and China with (Hong Kong and Macao)

Is the stadium in question in Zanzibar (part of Tanzania), and is it the Amaan Stadium ?

Fits: Not A-L, southern hemisphere, on an island off Africa, with a clue to multiple national stadia, since Tanzania also has Dar-Es-Salaam.

No not Estadio Nacional in Sao Tome and Principe, had considered that as a possible option left but that according to wiki was just North of the Equator.

Mip. You must have submitted this guess just as I was literally about to turn in for the night as I had answered the other post submitted at the same time.

Congratulations you are correct - we have a winner !!!!!!-well done

The Ground I chose was the Amaan Stadium, national stadium of Zanzibar. Zanzibar is part of the Republic of Tanzania and not a Fifa member and therefore cannot compete in the world cup or African Nations Cup.They have competed in non fifa tournaments like The Elf Cup in 2006. They do participate in the annual CECAFA cup as a separate nation from Tanzania.
