Thank you Michael, was sitting on that one for a few hours and completely missed your clue first time around with the link between Segar Bastard and William Foulke. Then everything seemed to fit into place particularly your hint that he was never a professional footballer. Anyway, Just want to wish all the people who take part in the 20Q quiz a Happy and peaceful new year. I should be online to pick up any questions and answers until later on this evening and will be online again at some point tomorrow. Away we go and good luck again to everyone.

I'll kick off then. Is it a ground this time? A Happy New Year to all 20Q players! It's been great playing this game with you and I'm looking forward to many obscure and interesting quizzes in 2010.

Congratulations Chris41! This seems to be your third victory in a relatively short time! Q: Is it an event? Happy new year to everyone from me too! This section has taught me some nice things, like Dean Windass having been sent off three times in a single game, and that East German teams sometimes got re-located due to political reasons, etc. I don't agree however with the one (mip?) saying this is great relaxation, because I personally - especially when I think I may have the correct answer - can get quite excited (though I probably hide it well).

Thank you Lars, your answer to the last quiz was also very good and it could easily have been you that had won. Yes it is an event/occurrence thing that we are looking for. Now the hunt for that event/Occurrence begins.

Well done Chris, and a Happy New Year. Can't believe I missed the Sheffield FC linked 20Qs!!!! Did it happen before 1980?

I'll put in a punt. The "Anschlussspiel" between Austria and Germany in 1938 to mark the "anschluss" between Germany and Austria. As a game between two brother nations, it was supposed to finish a draw but Matthias Sindelar and Karl Sesta thought otherwise and to the chagrin of the nazi-officials scored two goals in the 2nd half. Later on Matthias Sindelar refused to play in the "All-German" national side. He was found dead in early 1939, cause of death carbonmonooxide poisoning. Rumours had it he might have committed suicide.

Q: Was the match between two national teams? (By the way, did you notice that Michael/mip once again chose to focus on something German?! Speking about German, but the way... Perhaps you guys should calm down a bit with the mentioning of the wars in this thread and the previous one. I mean, in case there are any Germans around here. )
