Did the event happen during a game of football? I knew that I would probably be asked this question, so without trying to give you misleading information the answer should be no, the event did not happen during a game of football. However on the other side of the coin, what happened during the game of football did lead to the event/occurrence eventually occurring. I have probably given you extra information here by saving you from asking another connecting question. It seems I always get more than I ask for in this game. Wish this would propagate to the "real" world! G: Is it the riot that followed/interrupted the Dinamo Zagrab v Red Star Belgrade game on May 13th 1990? No Mip nothing to do with the Dinamo Zagrab and Red Star game in 1990

Did the game leading to this event take place in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (i.e. within the borders of Yugoslavia AND between 1943 and 1992)?

Are you prepared to have a guess ? No. Not really. But I'll chance it with the Cup Final on 17th June 1985 between Levski and CSKA Sofia. I'll elaborate if you want... but only if it's right I think the malevolent cup final of 1985 is a very good guess, Jamesie, but we're looking for an event and several events followed this game! One was the disbandment of the two clubs and reinstation with new names, another one was Levski getting stripped of the championship title which was awarded to Trakia Plovdiv instead. Levski were reinstated as champions in 1990, I think. As you don't explicitly state which event you're guessing at, I'll take it you go for the disbandment and name change. Then I'll go for the championship thing. Borth is not forgotten . Only joking... .

Referring to the highlight, is your answer that the event/occurrence occurred after the "Cup Final on 17th June 1985" ("this game"), or are you looking for a different game, and the event/occurrence thereto? (Oops... did that count as my guess for the day?)

(Oops... did that count as my guess for the day?)Sean, I don't quite get your point here! Basically, I was just having a pot shot at Jamesie for fun as he was a bit imprecise with his answer as we're not looking for a game but an event. "This game" refers exclusively to the 1985 cup final as I think this particular game initiated several different events, two of which are described. However, this might be contentious as you could argue it was all one event (disbandment, stripping of championship, change of name, reinstation etc.). I'll leave that decision to others - if it is at all this thing we're looking for. Seriously, Sean, as I wish to improve my English, is my sentence highlighted easily misunderstood? Should I have phrased it something like "... several events followed in the aftermath of this game!" or "... followed as a consequence of this game!"?

The answer that I was seeking was the disbanding of the two Bulgarian clubs Levski Spartak and CSKA Sofia ordered by the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist party following the Bulgarian cup final in 1985 which CSKA won 2-1. The game was marred by controversial refereeing decisions, confrontations on the field including an attack on the referee and fighting in the stands and as a result 6 players including Hristo Stoichkov and Borislav Mikhailov were given life bans but the suspension was lifted a year later enabling some of the players to be available for the 1986 world cup in Mexico. Both clubs were forced to reform with Levski Spartak becoming Vitosha Sofia and CSKA Sofia becoming CFKA Sredets . CSKA Sofia now has reverted back to their original name and Levski Spartak now play under the name of Levski Sofia. I remember reading about this at the time and only often wondered if there had been any TV coverage of this game due to the controversy ,So I was pleasantly surprised to find a 10 minute youtube clip of the game with Bulgarian tv commentery (picture quality not great). If you watch the full 10 minutes you can see it probably wasn’t the most friendliest of matches between the two sides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1Y52oSjzNU Hope that you didn’t find that too difficult - so over to you to set the next one. I have declared Mip the winner as he provided the exact event, however if you and Jamesie want to fight over who had the initial correct answer you can sort it amongst yourselves

No offense intended, my friend! I did not follow your response to Stu's question, and I understand the need to answer questions without giving away to much information (as I have done ). Let me go out on a limb ... Q: Are we looking for the actions of the state sporting organization following that game (the bans, dissolution, club renaming, etc) which eventually led to FIFA barring the interference of national govenments in the nations football organization ? (As was recently seen in Iraq, FIFA suspended international competition due to the actions of the Iraqi government).

I have declared Mip the winner as he provided the exact event, however if you and Jamesie want to fight over who had the initial correct answer you can sort it amongst yourselves No fighting, I felt bad about the Borth tap in, I now feel really good I set up Michael for payback. Incidentally, I DID know the answer would involve Levski and CSKA being disbanded after I'd figured out the country / game - 20Qs is about more than winning If you want me to elaborate I will, but only if I'm right! So then We have declared Mip the winner - Over to you Mip.

Just seen that Pompey have missed a penalty at Stoke. Saved by Thomas Sørensen who was brought up near Odense and have played 50 times for my home town side in Svendborg. Need some sort of success experience this afternoon so thank you for the pass, Jamesie . I kept on side and tapped it in with confidence - I'm certainly better in this game than in real football .
