Saw my consultant yesterday who told me that my liver tumour is growing and causing my liver to deteriorate quite quickly and that it is unlikely that I will survive into 2010. In fact, it will probably be sooner than that.

As a result, I have decided to freeze my site at www.tonykempster.co.uk at the end of this season and there will be no more updates after that. The site will still be there as a reference point but it will be frozen.

Shocking and sad news, Tony. Your work on this website is much appreciated by myself and, doubtless, many, many others.

Seconded.

It's always difficult to know what to say in these situations.
The website is important to a lot of us but your health is more important.

Terribly sorry to hear the news Tony. I don't post here much, but I've found the site incredibly useful for reference purposes. I know things don't look good right now, but I wish you all the best.

Words are never enough to express the depth of sadness i feel on hearing your latest news. I hope and pray that something changes for the better, but failing that at least the days, weeks, months and ever hopeful years continue to be as pain free as possible.

My work colleagues must be wondering what is happening to me as I keep having to wipe a tear away from my cheeks

I thank you Tony for years of dedication to this site, you have reignited my love for non league after a decade in the wilderness.

God Bless

Tony, I am so sorry to hear the news.

Your site has been an invaluable source of information, and will remain a lasting legacy to yourself, but your health is far more important at this time.

All the best,

Tony aka T P

Tony, I'm so sorry to hear this.

I may not have posted for several years but I still visit this site often. I believe there are more people out there in the non-league nation that regard the name of Tony Kempster very highly than you would believe. This site is a wonderful achievement, you should be very proud.

I feared this would be happening. As much as I will miss the site, I will miss a dear friend (whom I have never met in person) much more. Please don't give up hope.

As a new poster to the site i have found it very informative and have been looking at the various things on the forum and on the main site for a few years now. I want to also add my thoughts at this moment Tony.

As someone stated earlier on in the thread its very difficult knowing what to say in these situations. All i can say is my thoughts are with you and your family at the moment.

Tony,

Just read your latest and to be honest I feel numb. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I had the pleasure of meeting you once @ the Brigg v Oadby Vase Semi Final.

Not sure what else to say - I'm never any good when trying to express words in these situations.

yours

If it hadn't been for this site, I would never have got into the 'hopping' lark, and as a result never have made so many new acquaintances. It's been a wonderful source of information and has been very much appreciated.

All that is secondary though. I'm terribly saddened by this news, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Although I have never met you, I will miss you terribly. Your wonderful website brought me back to non-league football after more than 30 years in the waste land of America.

My condolences to you and your family.
