F.A.Youth Cup 6th Round

Friday 27th February 2009

Liverpool (3)4; Bolton Wanderers (1)2

Nathan Eccleston 25, David Amoo 35, Steven Irwin (2) 42 & 78; Daniel Ward 16, Chris Stokes (pen) 52

Semi-Final v Ipswich Town, Watford or Birmingham City (two legs).

0-1 Corner from right partially cleared to edge of box where Ward unleashed a magnificent volley.
(20) Mooy missed chance to put Bolton two up when he blazed over from 12 yards from O'Halloran's right wing cross.
1-1 Eccleston broke free on the left and raced through before slipping the ball beyond GK.
2-1 Amoo held off marker to meet Buchtmann cross with stooping header. Cue Amoo joyous celebrations.

3-1 Irwin produced series of flips after heading home Eccleston cross.
3-2 Kennedy brought down O’Halloran. Captain Stokes penalty in to left corner.
(65) Bouzanis pulled off a miracle save to keep out Ward's sweet turn and shot to prevent 3-3
4-2 Irwin run and shot in to the top corner of the Kop end net.

Liverpool:
Dean Bouzanis, Sreve Irwin, Christopher Buchtmann, Andre Wisdom, Joe Kennedy (c), Tom Ince, David Amoo, Adam Pepper, Lauri Dalla-Valle, Nathan Eccleston, Alex Kacaniklic. Unused Subs: Michael Roberts, Deale Chamberlain, Jack Robinson, Karl Clair, Conor Coady.

Att at Liverpool was 2,676

Tottenham v Arsenal on Thursday (5th March) is to be live on Setanta T.V. with K.O. pushed back to 7.45 (from 7.00)

John, not sure if you keep these for your own records, or want to change it.

(George Pawley 80), did not come on for Stokes, Stokes went of with a head injury and had to change his shirt. He came back on with Pawleys number.

Pawley came on for McGeechan

The stadium announcer got it wrong with the mix up with shirts.

The Bolton website has reported the correct subs.

I looked at both sites and where there is a difference on subs I err on there being the extra sub as they are often missed out by one or the other.
This situation shows that is not always the case but you can understand how it happened.

6 1-0 Obika - Caulker sent Mason away who played it wide to Townsend. He beat defender and crossed for Obika from six yards.
51 1-1 Bartley – Defender cleared Frimpong's corner on to Bartley’s back and rebound in from two yards.
90 1-2 Emmanuel-Thomas – Counter attack, Watt found Emmanuel-Thomas, his shot from 18 yards clipped off defender and in to the corner.
90+2 1-3 Murphy - Breakaway, Coquelin put Murphy clean through and cross-shot in to corner.
