Re: [Lensmeister] Board Future [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

I too would be sorry to see the forums, and indeed Tony's site go. I've been aware of Tony and his excellent site since the days when I was involved Non League on the Net.

It would be a real shame to see the forums go as a result of a tiny minority of idiots. I'm very much an advocate of just ignoring them.

To Tony, Steve and the mods - keep up the good work, it is truly appreciated.

I would like to add that I very much appreciate the work Tony has done in getting the site set up and maintaining it with the assistance of various distinguished mods. Thanks to all of those involved.

I echo what Vienna and Mishi have said -
a) we should self-police ourselves, mods ought not to be needed normally! Particularly with established posters.
b) responding to WUM's just encourages them. I know it's difficult sometimes, particularly the first time on a subject, but we can all think twice before posting in anger and sometimes may think better of it.

Apart from that, keep up the good work everyone!

Oh no. Haven't been here for a couple of weeks and found this thread. :(
Of course, I agree with all those who consider this forum to be unique in the way it's both informative, popular and entertaining.

To try to be practical... Well, as far as I see, there are some great guys/moderators that have started to help out. As long as those guys get along well with each other, I think the forum should be safe. They all seem to be stable-minded and respected.
So, I guess the forums could continue with a minimum of help from Tony himself. (I may be wrong.)

I have the greatest respect towards Tony, and agree that this forum has the spirit of his. He and Steve have been, and are, great for what they are providing. But to be practical, I assume others can do the moderating, etc. at least almost as good ;) ... which should be good enough!
