The 1st Round on Sat 18th Oct is not needed since there are only 21 entrants with 7 of those exempt to the 3rd Round so the remaining 14 enter the competition at the 2nd Round stage which will have only 5 ties and 4 teams will therefore have byes.

Final may be a Pride Park - perhaps they could make the draw one day
Personally I think they should make it a sort of open day with as many county cup finals as possible, the 2 legged thing was always daft. I guess the main argument against is having the game in such a large stadium, when a relatively packed Impact Arena or Saltergate may give a better atmosphere

It's about time!.
The last proper final your lot had was back in
1966 at the Baseball ground when Heanor beat
Buxton in front of a crowd of about 2,000(i've
got two different attendance figure's for the
game, it was either 1,859 or 2,429).
The original decision to have the final as a 2 legged
affair probably seemed right at the time, as the
Baseball ground final attendance's where dropping,
and the 1968 2 legged final saw 4,041 at Ilkeston
and 4,093 at Heanor.
But the time is right to give this competition a boost.
Of course we don't have that problem in Notts, we
play our final at the lovely Meadow Lane.

I have to agree the Notts Senior Cup does seem to have a higher profile, I think the link I sent though mentioned our final still being at the BBG in the 90's (in front of 9000)
ps good luck to Kirkby this season, I live in Newton (by Blackwell) just up the road - may pop down to see you

I've got the results of all the Derbyshire senior cup
finals going back to the first in 1884.Missing some
of the attendance's though.
And the last final at the Baseball ground was in 1966.
All the final's since then have been over 2 legs.
The final mentioned in the link that featured Belper
in front of 9,000, may have been the 1953 final
when Ilkeston Town beat Belper in front of 9,974.
The 1956 final, when Ilkeston beat Heanor had a
reported crowd of 19,983.
Keep it quite, because i wouldn't want my Notts
friends to know, but i was brought up in derbysh**e.
Alfreton Town was the first team i used to watch on
a regular basis, i watched the 2nd leg of the Dsc final
in 1973 when "Often" raised the cup.
I went to tibby school when councillor Moseby did PE.
Still break out in a cold sweat when i hear the word "slipper".
Thankfully my dad took us over the border to the glorious
county of Nottinghamshire.

you turncoat you!
I'd be interested in having a copy of what you have got on the DSC finals, I've read some early history on it in the book about Steve Bloomer when it certainly had a high profile.
OK my confession I did want Forest to win in the European Cup Finals.
And got to go over the border today to Sutton, passport ready.
Tibby (also one of my cats name another being Alfie (Alfreton)) has had a lot of money spent on it with floodlit artifical facilities. Always thought the village could sustain a team at CML, EMCL or NCEL though they beat Swanwick Pentrich Road Res 4-0 away on Sat in the DCFA Junior Cup North

Who's due to win the,
Derbyshire County FA Cawarden Senior Challenge Cup.
or isn't it about time we won this cup.

Here's a list of when this years entries last won the DSC.

Belper Town 2008.
Ilkeston Town 2007.
Gresley Rovers 2005.
Matlock Town 2004.
Alfreton Town 2003.
Glossop NE 2001.
Glapwell 1998.
Buxton 1987.
Heanor Town 1979.
Long Eaton Utd 1976.
Shirebrook* 1955.
Bolsover* 1940.
Staveley* 1889.

* The last 3 on the list are not the same clubs that
play this season.
They were Shirebrook MW, Bolsover Colliery and Staveley fc.
But it allows you to see when the last time these towns won the cup.
Staveley have been waiting 120 years and have been knocked out already.

Just been looking at the dates.
And the final is due to be:
1st leg:March 17/18.
2nd leg:March 31/April 1st.
Which will be the earliest finish in a long time
(The 1964 final was March 30th).
How strange, i wonder what the reasoning is for that.

Quarter-final due to be played:Jan 20/21.
And semi's due Feb 17/18.
