Prague - End of August or Reply Privately

I'm hoping to go to Prague at the end of August for a Poker tournament but will try to fit some football in if at all possible.
27/28 August until home on 2nd September.
Is there any "do not miss" grounds while I'm there..?
Also, any pubs that I should attend and good eating places.
The casino I want to play at is on the edge of the Old Town...

Re: [BillShep] Prague - End of August or Reply Privately

It's booked. Fly out Wednesday evening and back on the following Monday. Looking on Groundhopper on Saturday a 10:30 kick-off between FK Dukla Praha v FC Sellier & Bellot Vlasim looks favourite.
17:00 matches might be out of reach as the trip is for Poker and I would hopefully still be playing in the tournament. If not though, a local game would be Bohemians 1905 v FC Slovan Liberic.

How easy is it to go to these matches. Can you pay at the turnstiles or do you have to purchase a ticket before kick-off.

Oftenscore should be able to help me on this one... Pubs... Looking for Real Ale initially but Craft will be a good substitute. Any good ones easy to find in the old town.. Untappd will no doubt be my best friend for the few days I'm there...

Bohemians are often near sold out, but have an easy online ticketing.

Dukla are happy to sell you a ticket at the gates.

I'm long ovedrue a revisit to Prague, been nearly 20 yearsw since I went last, so I'd be using untappd myself and just a google search for Prague craft / Prague real ale etc. Try a pm to chesterbird / oldhampostcode, pretty sure they went not so long ago and would have been checking the local beer scene.

Re: [oftenscore6] Prague - End of August or Reply Privately

The main reason for the trip was Poker first, drinking second and the possibly football.
The Poker went well, the drinking was good which meant 10:15 kick-offs were just not possible.
Will be in Prague again and change my order of priorities.
