1-1 AET (1-1) 3-0p. On Thursday 6th March The F.A. ordered to the tie to be replayed after West Riding appealed the eligibility of one of their opponents

If a player was 'ineligible' the FA rules normally award the match to the opponents.

Why a replay?

Re: [Lord Astwick] F.A. County Youth Cup 2013-14 or Reply Privately

From what I understand the FA took a lenient view because the game was switched from London to Leeds quite late and this required a lot of running around on the part of the AFA people, trying to make sure they had a full team and that all the necessary waivers and permission forms were signed and returned. In the chaos that this caused, one player's status was not checked as thoroughly as it might normally have been. I'm not entirely sure what the problem was but it was to do with a previous registration which he believed had ended, but which had not. I don't know the rules of the competition, so I don't know which rule was infringed.

I know this much because I'm an AFA councillor and I will probably be going with them up to Leeds on Saturday for the replay. However, I have only seen informal communications about the above, hence my vague response.

Thanks Andy. I look forward to seeing your photos of the 'replayed' fixture. LA

Re: [Lord Astwick] F.A. County Youth Cup 2013-14 or Reply Privately

A bit more info, although for some reason I am not supposed to tell all (no idea why - the 'truth' is not damaging to anyone):

As explained, the AFA guys ran around like headless chickens on the Friday afternoon after hearing that Chesham had called the game off. Not surprisingly a couple of lad could not make a trip to Leeds at that short notice so the two guys who run the team were ringing round looking for replacements. One of the lads they called up had previously been in an academy but had been released. However, while released from football he was apparently still registered on the study side which meant he was ineligible.

The FA, mindful of the AFA's efforts towards getting the game played and also aware that the player in question was contacted after the FA offices had closed (making it difficult check the player out thoroughly), decided a reply would suffice.

Intriguing as to how West Riding were aware of it in order to appeal to The F.A. (as it has been reported)

Apparently they Googled all the AFA players and this one came up against someone's academy. They had seven days in which to do that - the guys organising the AFA teams had under 24 hours to get things together, hence the FA's stance.

Re: [John Treleven] F.A. County Youth Cup 2013-14 or Reply Privately

Saturday 15th March
Similarities to a fortnight ago as A.F.A. go through on penalties again
But this time A.F.A. were three up in half an hour, and at half time,
only for West Riding to score three in the second half
No more goals in extra time and A.F.A. won the shoot out 4-2
So A.F.A. travel to Suffolk next Saturday for the semi-final
with Lancashire awaiting the winners
