Do you know any Arsenal fans who expected to win the league or CL?
I don't, including my bruv who's been a season ticket holder for the best part of 30 years for his sins. Happy with another trophy, more so because Spurs won zip again.
History remembers who won what, not who qualified for whatever but was an also-ran in reality.

Yes I know a few Arsenal fans who expect that and are not content with the FA Cup, and of course St Totteringhams day had to be cancelled this year, a sign of things to come perhaps?

On that theme I don't suppose many Man Utd fans where that excited with the 'double' that they did this year although obviously it's Jose Mourinho's first season.

Doesn't your heart just bleed for these "fans" who, between them, aren't content with a combined haul of the Europa League, the FA Cup and League Cup. They deserve all the misery they feel from such perceived failure.

I'm sure Leicester fans are very delighted with their season. No cups but a CL run that will live long in their memories and a mid table finish that didn't look likely at one stage.

But many are saying Europa League place is a must come next May. Bar has been set very high with the recent exploits at the KPS.

I'd rather see a team like Leicester City win the FA Cup because I think it would really mean something to them, the last 'magical' final was when Wigan Athletic beat Manchester City.

Can you imagine the reaction if one of them actually had a poor season and got relegated. Or did a Leeds/Coventry? They might have to have a separate 606 just for Arsenal fans.

They're deluded. The top 7 are streets ahead and the team is a busted flush which needs a rebuild just to remain competitive in the PL. If they give the job to Shakespeare - a caretaker who just about squeezed the last drop of magic out of them but is utterly unproven at building and shaping a team of his own - they'll struggle badly.

After getting done in all four finals participated in you would get no arguments from any in these parts.

Possibly a bit over optimistic but hardly deluded, there's no reason why Leicester City can't get a Europa League place next season, whether they do or not remains to be seen.

Good and good. Funnily enough, he might well have left by now if it wasn't for the baying mob, but it seems there was no way he or the club was ever prepared to give in to that. Must be even more frustrating for those 'fans' after hearing of Tuchel's sudden availability this morning.

Of course, Wenger now needs to deliver improvement. With City and
United likely to be seriously challenging the current top two next season, that won't be easy. For any manager.

Good and good? What a strange thing to say!

And let's not exaggerate, there is no baying mob. Just fans who have become increasingly frustrated after years of under achievement.

Only the blinkered could find anything remotely strange about an opinion that it's good a manager hasn't been hounded out of his job by a vocal, unappreciative minority after all he's done for a club. Makes a nice change to see loyalty and class prevailing at the top level of the game. Now, of course, he has to repay the faith placed in him by once again challenging clubs with greater resources and pulling power.

Only the blinkered would think Wenger was a good manager, I think Jose Mourinho's 'specialist in failure' jibe was very apt. All he's done for the club? Like what exactly?

If you're so much in disagreement with the informed actions of the club's board and the support given by the majority of its fans, why not sound off on their forum or write a letter to them? I've already posted why I agree with the merits of today's decision so I'm not going to carry on spelling them out. Nobody needs to agree with them but to suggest they don't even exist when they're pretty obvious to anyone who cares to look is a bit OTT.

Conte on Wenger: "When you stay for a long time, for sure he is a good manager. We must consider him to be one of the best managers in history."

Guardiola on Wenger: "He's been there a long time because he's good. If not, it could not happen."

Klopp on Wenger: "He is a pioneer. He is someone who turned a vision into success, built a club for long-term sustainable success. And he continues to pit a team on the field which competes at the very top of one of the most competitive leagues in the world, playing attacking, successful football.

Ancelotti on Wenger: He built a strong identity in this club, he built a really good style of football.I have a lot of respect for the job he has done at Arsenal."

Ferguson on Wenger: "With the ridiculous situation of the pressure Arsene is under, I just wonder if they realise the job he's done."

Isaac on Wenger: "Only the blinkered would think Wenger was a good manager, I think Jose Mourinho's 'specialist in failure' jibe was very apt. All he's done for the club? Like what?"

And of course you missed out Jose Mourinho's view on Wenger, or doesn't he count?

The opinion that does count is the fans, you know the ones who pay Wengers wages?Crazy

In addition to the "rubbish" (a word you've since deleted) spouted by that stellar cast of managers we can add the views of the people who employ and pay Wenger's wages, and the majority of the club's fans who back him.

But keep on digging. And, by your definition, Mourinho too has been a failure this season.

What is irrelevant about any of that? It answers perfectly the questions you raised about Wenger's ability and achievements. Or are you still baffled about what the guy brings to the party?

Only because you suggested so in #118.

Not sure what you're trying to achieve with your links, especially as Lineker hasn't said Wenger should go and Tony Adams is hardly an authority on football management. You'll be giving us links to Piers Morgan's blinding insights next...

To sum up, I believe Wenger staying is the right decision but can understand why some may have an opposite view. On the other hand, you, Piers and a minority of fans think he should go, but you in particular still seem utterly incapable of understanding the opposite view despite having it presented to you on a plate.
