A last minute change of plan for the weekend meant I was up in Derbys for the weekend. This match was the closest FA Cup match on offer and turned out to be a good choice. The 2 teams are geographically approx 5 miles apart and both play in the Midland Premier , so very much a local derby. A good turn out for the Selston supporters. There were also some local neutral supporters whose preferred teams were not playing today. The ground has it's own car park for approx 60 cars and was easily filled with people parking on the approaching street as well. There was an overflow car park at The Hub, situated at the turning of Lee's Lane, although with no signs telling the visitors this, it wasn't actually used. A proper turnstile at the gate and the fencing all painted blue in the team colours. A bar with a hard standing area was overlooking the pitch, and a small tea bar 'Shiners Diner' was serving tea and hot food. There was also an open hatch for the team shop.
The home team started as they meant to go on scoring at regular intervals. The frustrations began to show in the second half as Selston had a player sent off. A friendly ground and staff and I shall follow their cup run with interest, although it's unlikely I shall be able to attend any more of their future FA Cup fixtures.

2019 -20 season 17 new grounds.
