Re: [Eastbourne] Twenty Questions #898 or Reply Privately

Painted on the wrong side of the pitch so the match cameras missed most of it

In 1979, aged 17, he was a bouncer at a night club and was convicted of knifing to death student Ian Alexander there

Portsmouth gave him a trial on his release just 7 years later

also on line is -

"I knew Perry Buckland: he went to my primary school.
I was in his elder brother's (Terry) class and his younger sister was called Cherry.
I think he had a younger brother, too, Kerry, perhaps.

Though he was a year or two below me Perry was the school bully.
I was friendly with Terry so I wasn’t normally bothered.
But one time Perry forced me to climb a tree and wouldn’t let me down.

He was also very, very vicious to others – he was a little bastard.
I don’t remember him being at the school long – perhaps he was chucked out.

So it was odd when I saw the graffiti “Perry Buckland Is Innocent”.
Whilst he may not have been guilty of the murder
I knew that even as an eight year old he was never innocent."
