I suppose after 27 years the Deva Stadium must be looking tired and run down now.

But this is obviously not intended as a replacement for the Deva Stadium, which was only built as recently as 1992. These proposals are presumably just about providing more places for local teams, or Chester FC's youth teams, to play. There are no stands, let alone large ones, shown in the plans.

I seem to recall that quite recently, there was another similar instance of confusion on this forum over a club's new plans for a training ground.

New training facility not a new stadium for the club to relocate to. Yes ive certainly read about this in the recent past.

It’s definitely a new ground(by definition it definitely is a training ground). I specifically never mentioned a ‘new stadium’.

Leicester City are also building a 'new ground' at a cost of £80 million with a stand holding 499 spectators. That of course would never meet the criteria for the standard they are playing at so fortunately the club are staying put at the KPS. Sly

Do you really think the title you've given the thread isn't misleading?

Are Chester going to be playing any competitive matches there? It's not a new ground. It's a new training facility.

If any of it means alterations to the Deva Stadium, the planning application process should be interesting with half the ground (mainly pitch) in Wales and half (mainly offices and car park) in England.................
